On December 4, 2025, at the National Center "Russia", an open dialogue with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education titled "Social Leadership of Universities" took place within the framework of the international forum. During the discussion, participants examined the social mission of universities.
Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, expressed gratitude to university teams, including the leadership of the Financial University, for their contribution to the holistic development of youth: "Today, a university is not just an educational institution but a true hub of attraction and development. Thanks to your active involvement in organizing projects for young leaders, we are collectively achieving strategic educational and social goals.
In her speech, Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the Financial University, highlighted key university projects aimed at strengthening spiritual and moral values such as patriotism, respect for cultural heritage, and family traditions.
One of the main areas of the university’s work is comprehensive support for participants in the special military operation. "Since 2023, the Faculty of Law has successfully operated the sewing workshop, established in partnership with the Ministry of Finance of Russia. With the efforts of students, faculty, and staff, over 50,000 items of essential equipment—helmets liners, T-shirts, pillows, balaclavas, and other gear—have been sewn and sent to our servicemen," Prokofiev noted
The Financial University also places special emphasis on educational support for defenders of the Motherland and their families. In addition to a dedicated quota-covering tuition for 226 servicemen and their children enrolled in full-time programs at the university through federal funding—graduates of state awards and individuals who sustained first- or second-degree disabilities during combat also receive full tuition coverage at bachelor’s programs. Furthermore, the university offers continuing education opportunities for active military personnel, with over 1,500 participants in online courses related to the special military operation.
Prokofiev shared details about the university’s extensive volunteer activities, including the work of a search-and-recovery team dedicated to commemorating fallen Defenders of the Fatherland from World War II.
Additionally, the university collaborates with the Sretensky Theological Academy on an educational project for schoolchildren—participants’ children—titled "HERITAGE: Guardians of the Future," within the International Movement for Financial Security. This initiative aims to foster a moral and spiritual environment, promote Russia’s cultural and historical legacy, and cultivate a harmonious, socially responsible individual.
"These projects help integrate different social groups and focus on preserving moral and spiritual values, patriotic education of youth, and supporting veterans. They make a significant contribution to the social mission of our university," Prokofiev stated.
The discussion also featured Dmitry Zemtsov, Vice-Rector for Research at the Higher School of Economics; Artur Azarov, Vice-Rector for Science at RANEPA; Dmitry Grishankov, CEO of "REX-Analytics"; Marat Ismagulov, HR Director at Alfa-Bank; and other experts. The moderator was Evgeny Szhenov, the Chairman of the Expert Council for Continuing Education at the Committee for Science and Higher Education of the State Duma and scientific director of “NOP. Scientific and Educational Policy”.
