On February 24, the Academic Council meeting of Financial University was held, where Kirill Kroshkov, Head of the University’s Office, presented the results of the university’s information policy implementation in 2025 and key changes to the university’s branding.
In his report, Kirill Kroshkov noted that in 2025, the university developed and approved a comprehensive information policy outlining how the university interacts with target audiences across social networks, messengers, the website, and image events. Additionally, a new official website was launched, integrated with internal university systems, along with a set of measures to improve its SEO.
Further work was carried out on the university’s branding platform. The university's positioning shifted from "one of the leading universities" to "a leading university shaping new trends in economics and education," with a new slogan: "Financial University: Creating Trends." Based on an analysis of the needs of key audiences—prospective students, their parents, employers, partners, and government— a "Big Idea" was formulated to underpin communication: “Financial University – a place where your value is shaped.”
Kirill Kroshkov emphasized that for the first time, Financial University ranked in the Top 3 of the Russian universities' media ranking by Medialogia. The university’s Media Index increased by 35%, the number of experts regularly appearing in the media grew by 68%, and the new website garnered nearly 20 million views. He concluded by saying that such high results would have been impossible without the personal contributions of faculty and experts who work daily with media to promote the brand and shape the university’s expert image.
At the beginning of the meeting, Rector Stanislav Prokofyev presented awards:
Gratitude from the Government of the Russian Federation – to Grigory Ostapenko, Vice-Rector for Digitalization;
Honorary Certificate of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation – to Kirill Kroshkov, Head of the University’s Office.
The Academic Council also heard reports from Vice-Rector for Strategy and GR Semenov on implementing the Development Program of Financial University in 2025, and from Vice-Rector for Additional Professional Education Elena Didenko on the results of activities related to additional professional education in 2025 and plans for 2026.
Additionally, the Council adopted the Admission Rules for Financial University, including the number of places available for secondary vocational education programs, presented by Deputy Vice-Rector for Marketing and Admissions Kira Artamonova.
The Council reviewed the issue of awarding the title "Honored Professor of Financial University" to the Chair of the Academic and Scientific Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, PhD in Economics Professor Su Dinh Thang, and to the President of the National Economics University of Vietnam, Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor Bui Huy Nhuong.
Furthermore, upon the proposal of the Vice-Rector for Academic Organization Elena Markina, a decision was made to redistribute vacant budget-funded places for participants of the special military operation.
Deputy Scientific Director Marina Fedotova presented materials for participation in the national competition "Textbook of the Year" organized by the Russian Professors’ Assembly, to be submitted for the university’s upcoming application.
Following the report by the university’s Academic Secretary Vita Zvyagintseva, amendments were adopted to the Procedure for considering candidates for academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor, as well as to the Regulations for the university’s competition for filling teaching staff positions related to the faculty.
