On April 19, 2026, Financial University held its Open Day, giving prospective students insight into why a diploma from the university represents far more than a certificate of education—it's a gateway to unique opportunities for building a successful career and achieving personal growth.
The event opened in the Nobel Hall with a welcome address by University Rector Stanislav Prokofiev, who noted:
"According to the Russian Ministry of Labor's rankings, Financial University ranks among the top 3 in nine national graduate employment ratings across various fields of study—including two first-place positions. We encourage students to engage with employers and integrate into their chosen professions as early as possible. This is the fastest and most reliable path to securing a well-paid, meaningful job. Over 90% of our graduates find employment either during their studies or within two months of graduation."
The secret to this success lies in immersing students in real-world professional environments long before they receive their diplomas. Financial University has created an ecosystem where students train using equipment and standards from leading companies, including:
-
The Alfa-Bank Digital Department
-
A VTB-branded lecture hall
-
The AXELOT Laboratory
-
A Sber-branded learning space
-
The PSB Bank Hub with two specialized labs
-
Russia's only Digital Educational Exchange—MOEX LAB Trading Laboratory
Maxim Kondratenko, Member of the VTB Management Board and Head of the university's base department "VTB: Modern Practices and Technologies in Banking", addressed prospective students via video message. He emphasized the critical importance of choosing a profession in an era of digital economic transformation. He noted that the department's curriculum uniquely combines academic knowledge with real-world banking case studies, and encouraged future students to embrace ambitious challenges, actively develop critical thinking skills, and take full advantage of opportunities offered through the VTB–Financial University partnership.
Special emphasis at Financial University is placed on internships. The university implements unique projects with government ministries and agencies, such as the "Intern at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia" program. Thanks to partnerships with over 2,000 leading companies, students can undertake paid internships starting in their third year. Additionally, 90% of educational programs are co-developed with employers, and final thesis projects can be defended as real-world assignments based on actual company briefs.
Financial University reaffirms its status as an educational flagship through strong positions in national and international rankings. In 2025, the university ranked among the top 10 universities in Russia according to RAEX, while its performance in prestigious global rankings (QS WUR by Subject, THE WUR by Subject, and others) continues to improve.
The university has introduced a fundamentally new educational model that allows students to earn two qualifications within a single diploma. Over 40 double degree programs are available, such as Bauman Moscow State Technical University and Sechenov University. Starting in 2026, Financial University will launch a joint program with MGIMO University in International Logistics.
"Studying at Financial University means access to a global educational space. As our student, you'll have opportunities to study at leading universities worldwide. We maintain extensive partnerships with institutions across the EAEU, Asia, Latin America, and the Persian Gulf region," emphasized Stanislav Prokofiev.
For example, in April 2026, a Financial University delegation visited the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on a working trip. Among other outcomes, an agreement was signed to implement a joint bachelor's program in "Business Management / Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)" and "International Business" with the Hanoi University of Finance and Banking.
Financial University creates comprehensive conditions for students to realize their entrepreneurial potential. The campus features a unique business ecosystem, including:
-
A business incubator
-
An entrepreneurship club
-
A startup studio
-
Experienced mentors from the business community
The StudUp Center for Student Professional Development offers over 50 additional programs—from foreign languages to cutting-edge FinTech—enabling students to gain new qualifications and expand their skill sets beyond their core curriculum. Many programs are delivered in partnership with companies like Alfa-Bank, Sber, and VTB.
The university also operates a Military Training Center, whose graduates receive officer or sergeant ranks upon completion.
To nurture creative potential, the university hosts dozens of artistic clubs, theater groups, and over 70 sports sections. Particular pride is taken in the golf team (multiple-time Russian champion) and the rugby club. Each year, grand historical balls are held in Moscow's palaces. The university's search-and-rescue squad operates actively, while students and faculty together produce items for military personnel and frontline hospitals through the campus workshop "WE ARE TOGETHER." Members of the Expedition Club have summited Mount Elbrus, and the university flag has even traveled to space.
Financial University has built a comprehensive ecosystem for holistic personal development and professional growth. Large-scale infrastructure projects provide comfortable living and learning conditions for students from Moscow and across Russia—including 8 modern dormitories in Moscow, the university's own Universum Medical Center, and the Lesnoe Ozero Educational & Wellness Complex.
The formal portion of Open Day continued with a presentation by Svetlana Bryukhovetskaya, Vice Rector for Marketing and Working with Applicants, who outlined the 2026 admissions process. She highlighted key aspects of document submission, enrollment stages, consideration of individual achievements, and opportunities through academic competitions and olympiads.
Throughout the day, prospective students and their parents could visit:
-
An exhibition of faculty programs
-
Consultation zones with admissions guidance and preparation tips
-
Career orientation booths hosted by employer partners
