Training Program for Foreign Specialists from Burundi and Burkina Faso Concludes at the Financial University

University25 May 2026

On May 21, 2026, the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation completed a professional development program for foreign specialists from Burundi and Burkina Faso titled "Labor Market Management and Population Employment." The educational initiative was implemented in partnership with the university's International School of Business.

As part of the project, three groups of participants—representatives from relevant government agencies and organizations in the two African nations—successfully completed their training. The curriculum focused on modern approaches to labor market regulation, mechanisms for promoting employment, improving public administration in the social sector, and implementing effective tools for formalizing labor relations.

The program culminated in the defense of individual capstone projects, in which participants presented proposals for strengthening national employment systems and reforming labor markets in their home countries. These projects were grounded in research findings and practical observations gathered by the participants during their work in Burundi and Burkina Faso.

Special emphasis in the submitted works was placed on reducing informal employment, developing transparent frameworks for government-business collaboration, and creating conditions to enhance social protections for workers. Program participants highlighted the practical relevance of Russia's experience in employment regulation and praised the high quality of training received at the Financial University.

The implementation of this international educational initiative aligns with Russia's current strategic focus on expanding cooperation with African nations. In recent years, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade have repeatedly underscored the importance of strengthening humanitarian, educational, and economic ties with African countries, as well as the need to train skilled personnel for joint projects and initiatives.

The successful completion of this program marks another milestone in the Financial University's international collaboration efforts and reaffirms the institution's recognized expertise in preparing specialists for public administration and socio-economic governance.
