Preparatory Faculty:
The Preparatory Faculty of the Financial University is the leading institution in the pre-university training system. Our primary goal is to help foreign citizens who do not speak Russian receive high-quality preparation for admission to the Financial University, as well as to any other higher education institution in the Russian Federation.
Additional educational programs
The program is taught in four key areas:
- Economics;
- Engineering and Technology;
- Humanities;
- Medical and Biological Sciences
- The Classical Program prepares students for professional programs taught in Russian.
- The Partially English-Taught Program is a supplementary general education program in which students study Russian, English, and specialized subjects in English. This is the optimal choice for those who want to adapt to studying in Russia while maintaining a comfortable language transition.
Upon successful completion of the curriculum and passing the final exams, students receive a certificate of completion from the Preparatory Faculty—a document that opens the door to admission to the country's leading universities.
Geography and contingent
Every year, more than 200 students from 65 countries study within the faculty’s walls.
Among them are citizens of India, China, Vietnam, Mongolia, Korea, Sri Lanka, Japan, Nigeria, Angola, Zambia, Kenya, Mexico, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Syria, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Madagascar, Peru, Bolivia and many other countries.
This diversity creates a unique intercultural environment and helps to quickly adapt to the new educational system.
Infrastructure and learning conditions
The faculty boasts modern multimedia classrooms, computer labs with internet access, and the Financial University's online learning environment. Students have access to:

Classes are taught by teachers with extensive experience working with international students, allowing them to take into account the linguistic and cultural characteristics of each student.
Outside of school: adaptation and development
The faculty has organized systematic educational and social adaptation work. We regularly conduct::

Hello, my name is Alexis, and I am from France. When I arrived in Russia, I didn't speak Russian. Luckily, from the very first day in Moscow, I received help from everyone, which greatly eased my integration into the university. Throughout the year, the teachers, dean's office, and university staff were always available, friendly, responsive, and ready to assist me whenever needed. I had a wonderful year at the Preparatory Faculty. There were many events aimed at introducing Russian culture and helping students meet new people. The quality of teaching was very good, and I was able to make rapid progress in Russian. I am very glad that I chose the Financial University and its Preparatory Faculty; I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to come and study in Russia.

Bonjour, je m’appelle Alexis, je viens de France. Lorsque je suis arrivé en Russie, je ne parlais pas russe. Heureusement, dès mon premier jour à Moscou, j’ai apprécié que tout le monde m’ait aidé, cela grandement facilité mon intégration à l’université. Durant toute mon année les professeurs, le bureau du doyen, le personnel de l’université ont toujours été disponibles, aimables, réactifs et m’ont toujours aidé lorsque j’en ai eu besoin. J’ai passé une merveilleuse année au sein de la faculté préparatoire. De nombreux événements sont organisés pour se familiariser avec la culture russe et faire de nouvelles rencontres. La qualité de l’enseignement est de très bonne qualité, j’ai pu rapidement progresser dans la langue russe. Je suis ravie d’avoir choisi l’université financière et sa faculté préparatoire, je la recommande vivement à quiconque souhaite venir en étudier en Russie. Hello everyone, my name is Galo Andrés Álvarez, and I’m from Ecuador. I’ve always wanted to explore Russian culture, so I decided to pursue my master's degree in Moscow. Living in Moscow has been an incredible experience — walking through its streets, parks, and theaters allowed me to discover and fall in love with Russian culture. Thanks to the Financial University, I found excellent teachers who helped me achieve great results in learning the language. The dean’s office also pays close attention to organizing leisure activities, which gave me the chance to make good friends and try new sports. Without a doubt, it’s been a fantastic year. I am grateful to the entire university, especially my teacher who always cared for us. I also want to thank my friends from all over the world and my classmates with whom I shared unforgettable moments. Vivir en Moscú ha sido una experiencia increíble, pasear por las calles, parques y teatros de esta gran ciudad me ha permitido conocer y enamorarme de la cultura rusa, por otro lado, en la Universidad Financiera encontré excelentes maestros gracias a los cuales he obtenido un gran resultado en el aprendizaje del idioma, por otro lado, el decanato siempre está atento a crear actividades de esparcimiento que me han permitido hacer grandes amistades y practicar deportes nuevos. Hello everyone! My name is Marco, and I’m from Colombia. I studied at this wonderful Preparatory Faculty. When I came to Russia, I had many expectations but also some fears. I was worried I wouldn’t fit in with my classmates or learn such a difficult language. However, thanks to my teachers, the administration, and my classmates, I had an excellent experience — definitely a year full of knowledge and unforgettable moments. My classmates were always very friendly and supportive, and my teachers were always ready to help me improve my Russian, especially when it came to speaking. The administration also responded quickly and efficiently to all my questions about paperwork, which made the whole experience much smoother. I leave with a smile and sincere gratitude.

Llegué a Rusia con muchas expectativas, pero también con muchos miedos, me preocupaba no adaptarme con mis compañeros de estudio, no aprender un idioma tan difícil. Sin embargo, gracias a mis profesores, a la administración y a mis compañeros, tuve una excelente experiencia, definitivamente un año de muchos aprendizajes y momentos inmemorables que me hicieron construir un hogar. Admission Terms and Conditions
The Preparatory Faculty offers a one-year program in the Russian language designed for further admission to bachelor’s, specialist’s, master’s, or doctoral programs (profiles: economic, humanitarian, engineering and technical).
The duration of study is 1 year (2 semesters).
The start date for studies at the Preparatory Faculty Faculty is September.
Application submissions for the Preparatory Faculty are accepted from July 1 to December 1, 2026.
The tuition fee for is 310,000 rubles per year.
After successful completion of studies at the Preparatory Faculty, students will get a Certificate.
Students who do not pass the exams can request a document of study with a list of studied disciplines and their hours.
Required document for application:
- Passport
- Educational certificate
- Notarized translations of both documents into Russian
- Student’s photo (JPG format)
- Current email address
- Mobile phone number
- Desired profile (profiles: economic, humanitarian, engineering and technical)

Organization of Student Visa and Registration Support
I. Issuance of Invitations for Entry into the Russian Federation
- Fill out the form to request an invitation for study and send the document to: rusedu@fa.ru
- After receiving the invitation, you should contact the Russian Embassy or Consulate in your country to obtain a student entry visa for Moscow (the processing time for the invitation is 40 calendar days);
Without 50% payment the invitation cannot be issued.
II. Registration of Migration Documents.
Within 2 days of entering Russia, you must provide
- Original passport + 3 copies;
- Original entry visa + 2 copies;
- Migration card (issued at the border) with purpose of entry "Study" + 3 copies;
- Completed notification of arrival and visa application form.
- Documents are submitted to the Visa Department at Moscow, Leningradsky Prospekt, 51/1, Room 0209 (Metro station «Aeroport»).
Medical Documents Required for Admission (must be notarized translated into Russian):
- Blood tests for HIV/AIDS, RW, HBC, HCV, malaria;
- Vaccination certificates against infectious diseases;
- Certificate of vaccinations received;
- Fluorography;
- Dermatologist’s conclusion;
- Stool tests for helminth eggs;
- Infectious disease specialist’s conclusion;
- Form 086/u (can be issued in Moscow), which includes: examination by a general practitioner, surgeon, neurologist, ophthalmologist, ENT specialist (otorhinolaryngologist), as well as general blood and urine tests.
The university assists international students in concluding an insurance contract immediately after arrival.
Note! All documents and medical certificates must be translated into Russian. Translations must be done at Russian Embassies or Consulates abroad or by notary offices in Moscow.
Arrival at the Faculty
- Inform the dean’s office via email: rusedu@fa.ru and send your electronic ticket (it is recommended to purchase a ticket for weekdays).
- Provide the following documents to the dean’s office:
- Original passport and notarized translation into Russian;
- Original educational document and its notarized translation into Russian, legalized if necessary;
- 8 color photographs (3x4 cm) on matte paper;
- Medical insurance policy (DMS);
- Medical documents (must be translated into Russian):
- Blood tests for HIV/AIDS, RW, HBC, HCV, malaria;
- Vaccination certificates against infectious diseases;
- Certificate of vaccinations received;
- Fluorography;
- Dermatologist’s conclusion;
- Stool tests for helminth eggs;
- Infectious disease specialist’s conclusion.
Form 086/u (can be issued in Moscow), which includes: examination by a general practitioner, surgeon, neurologist, ophthalmologist, ENT specialist (otorhinolaryngologist), as well as general blood and urine tests.
Ensure you have sufficient funds to cover tuition fees, medical insurance, and accommodation in a hall of residence.
