On December 5, 2025, the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Business Dialogue with China in the New Era". The event was dedicated to the development of multilateral cooperation between Russia and China amid the formation of a multipolar world.
During the plenary session, which focused on key issues of trade-economic, investment, and scientific-educational cooperation, experts discussed changes in the trade structure, prospects for aligning financial infrastructures, China's foreign policy priorities, and mechanisms for scientific and educational collaboration.
The event was opened with welcoming remarks from the moderator, Dean of the Faculty of International Economic Relations, Pavel Seleznev. He emphasized that Russian-Chinese relations have reached an unprecedented level of strategic partnership, requiring a comprehensive approach that combines academic research with practical business initiatives and investment projects.
Experts from the People's Republic of China participated in the plenary meeting, highlighting the importance of applying new approaches and exchanging business ideas in such platforms for fostering cooperation between countries. Welcoming speeches were given by Li Zheng, Managing Member of the Board of Directors of the Chinese International Investment Corporation "Huamin"; Professor of Industrial Management and Vice President for International Partnership at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Danzi; and Director of the Stockholm Center, Mike Danilovich.
A video greeting was also sent to the participants of the plenary session by Liu Jun, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Russia.
Representatives of international business companies shared insights on technological development. Reports were presented by Yulia Vlasova, Head of Sales for Trading Equipment at the Chinese international company "Haier"; Liang Meng, Senior Researcher at China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC); and Andrey Prokhorovich, Managing Partner of Eurasia Development Group (ED), expert on sustainable development within the UN Global Compact in China, exclusive partner and investor of Chinese holding TechNode in Russia and CIS countries.
Galina Kulikova, First Deputy Chairperson of the Russian–Chinese Friendship Association and Honored Worker of Culture of Russia, Andrey Tolstikov, Deputy Chair of the Russia-China Business Council for Financial Markets and Investments, and Pavel Ustyuzhaninov, Executive Secretary of the Russian section of the Russia-China Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the importance of systemic development of international cooperation, especially in the fields of education, technology, and interregional relations, as key conditions for achieving new economic goals and strengthening multilateral dialogue.
Representatives of the academic community also spoke at the plenary session. These included Ilya Ilyin, Dean of the Faculty of Global Studies at Lomonosov Moscow State University, and Arasha Bolaev, Vice President for Scientific, Technological, and International Cooperation of the International Academy of Natural Sciences.
The "Business Dialogue with China in the New Era" international conference also featured business sessions, master classes, and scientific-practical sessions on relevant issues of international economic relations between Russia and China.
