On August 26, 2025, the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation welcomed an official delegation from the VNU University of Economics and Business (VNU UEB). During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation and expressed their readiness to expand collaboration in academic and research fields.
The guests were warmly received by Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the Financial University, who said:
«Our universities share a long history — the first Vietnamese students came to study with us as early as the 1940s. Today, at this new stage of development in the friendly relations between our countries, we have over 200 Vietnamese students enrolled, and many Financial University students choose Vietnamese as an additional language. I am confident that your visit will strengthen our cooperation and that together we can make a significant contribution to training highly qualified professionals in finance and economics, as well as to the development of bilateral relations between our countries as a whole.»
In turn, Mr. Nguyen Truc Le, Chairman of the Board of the VNU University of Economics and Business, thanked the Financial University leadership for their warm and cordial reception. He expressed confidence that the many years of successful joint work would provide a strong foundation for further strengthening and expanding university collaboration.
During the discussions, special attention was given to developing and reinforcing the partnership within the framework of the agreements between the Russian Federation and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership. The parties agreed to enhance academic mobility for students and faculty, implement summer school programs for VNU UEB students, organize joint scientific events, prepare and publish research papers, and explore opportunities to offer short-term educational programs in economics and finance for Vietnamese students at the Financial University.
As part of their visit, the delegation also toured the Financial University Museum, which features an exhibition dedicated to the history of wartime currency, including unique banknotes issued during various military periods. The guided tour for the Vietnamese colleagues was conducted by Anatoly Kislyakov, Director of International Cooperation at the Financial University.
