On August 29, 2025, an extended meeting of the Academic Council of the Financial University was held, attended by faculty.
The main agenda item was Rector Stanislav Prokofiev’s report on the university’s performance in the 2024/2025 academic year and key objectives for 2025/2026.
In his address, the Rector praised the hard work of the university community and highlighted that, for the first time, the Financial University entered the TOP-10 in the Russian National Ranking of universities by the RAEX agency. Additionally, the university ranked in the TOP-5 for graduate employment rates and salary levels. Prokofiev also emphasized that the Financial University Lyceum was recognized as the best economics-focused secondary school in Russia according to the RAEX rankings.
Looking ahead, Rector Prokofiev outlined several priority goals, including the transition to a new higher education system; increasing the relevance and demand for applied research projects; expanding academic partnerships with leading universities in India, Brazil, Indonesia, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia; providing comprehensive support to students who have participated in the special military operation; enhancing cultural and educational initiatives; ensuring adherence to ethical standards and work discipline among university staff; and maintaining a high level of information security.
Concluding his report, the Rector stressed that only through the entire university team work will these ambitious goals be achieved successfully.
Following the report, Rector Stanislav Prokofiev and Roman Umansky, CEO of the commercial publishing company Kommersant JSC, signed a cooperation agreement. This partnership will pave the way for the development of joint educational programs and increase the involvement of Financial University experts in Kommersant’s publications and online platforms.
The Rector also presented letters of gratitude to Andrey Chapchaev, CEO of Infotecs JSC, and Anna Chefranova, CEO of the Infotecs Training Center, for their invaluable support in preparing additional professional programs on information security for participants of the Social Fund of Russia.
The Academic Council then reviewed and approved the Report on its activities for the 2024/2025 academic year and the Work Plan for 2025/2026, presented by Vita Zvyagintseva, Academic Secretary of the Council.
Other current matters concerning the Financial University were also discussed during the session.
