On September 23, 2025, a delegation from the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE) of the People’s Republic of China paid a working visit to the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. During the meeting, representatives of both universities discussed opportunities and prospects for bilateral cooperation in science and education.
«Over 3,500 students from around the world study at the Financial University, including more than 100 from China. Recently, five of our students completed student exchange programs in China and highly praised the quality of education and hospitality they experienced. The Financial University and CUFE are united not only by shared educational goals but also by a common commitment to developing international collaboration in the scientific and economic fields. I am confident that our partnership will continue to grow, opening new opportunities for both sides,» said Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the Financial University, welcoming the guests.
One of the key priorities identified by Rector Prokofiev was expanding cooperation in the field of AI: “We are open to new ideas and believe that our joint efforts will deepen ties in education and research.”
Mr. Ma Haitao, President of CUFE, expressed gratitude to the Financial University’s leadership for the warm reception and emphasized the importance of further strengthening relations between the two institutions. He noted that synergies in economics and education provide a strong foundation for building scientific and educational bridges between Russia and China.
Svetlana Solyannikova, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work at the Financial University, invited the Chinese colleagues to participate in the university’s annual International Forum, themed “Russia: Vision of the Future.” She added that such events are vital steps toward jointly developing effective solutions to today’s global challenges.
During the negotiations, several areas of collaboration were highlighted: the creation of double-degree programs, expansion of academic mobility for students and faculty, implementation of summer and winter schools for students from both Russia and China, organization of joint scientific events, preparation and publication of research involving experts from both universities, as well as support for the mobility of graduate students and young researchers for joint studies.
Representing the Financial University at the event were Vice-Rector for Educational and Methodological Work Ekaterina Kameneva, Dean of the Faculty of International Economic Relations Pavel Seleznev, First Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Finance Olga Polyakova, Director of International Cooperation Anatoly Kislyakov, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Liliya Prikhodko, Head of the Department of Banking and Monetary Regulation of the Faculty of Finance Marina Abramova, and Head of the Department of Public Finance of the Faculty of Finance Margarita Vasyunina.
