This postgraduate program is intended for those who find themselves uncomfortable working within only one field of study and have a desire to conduct comprehensive research at the junction of disciplines such as political science, social sciences, economics, etc. Upon completion of the postgraduate program, students will be ready to solve various tasks of professional activity (research, teaching, expert and analytical).
Postgraduate students will study the interdisciplinary basis of the theory of political decisions, the origins of decision-making concepts, fundamental and applied research on public decision-making, the stages of formation of the modern theory of political decision-making, the formation of the theory of decision-making. In the course of classes in this discipline, it is necessary to assess the problems of adapting foreign models to domestic practice, assess mistakes in making strategic decisions in public policy, and much more that can replenish the knowledge of a modern political scientist.
In the course of mastering the course, postgraduate students analyze the structure of national security, the main types of security (economic, social, political, technological, scientific and technical, informational, environmental, military, etc.). Postgraduate students study the algorithm for ensuring the national security of the individual, society, and the state. The national interests of the Russian Federation will be assessed, i.e. the order of formation and content, strategic national priorities (national defense, state and public security).
PhD students will study political trends and their impact on the formation of political theories at the turn of the XX-XXI centuries on the basis of actual data, using real cases. In addition, they will stratify and analyze the main problems of postmodernism in political science, the transformation of theories of democracy, the problems of applying rational choice models and network approaches in political science, and the problems of modern institutional analysis. The problems of modeling in the socio-political sphere will also be studied, the probability of successful model construction and the limits of applicability of system-communicative modeling will be analyzed.
Studying this discipline, postgraduate students will learn more about professional activity of a political consultant during an election campaign, political advertising in political consulting, the application of tools, techniques and technologies of political consulting as well as the ways to counteract “dirty” political technologies and administrative resources in an election campaign.
Upon mastering this course, students can carry out teaching and research activities in the system of higher and additional education and adapt the results of scientific research for their further use in teaching.
After attending classes, postgraduate students will learn how to conduct a scientific discussion in foreign languages, formalize and present research results to the scientific community, including publications in foreign journals.
