About the program

This PhD program is systematic and program-target oriented, focusing on the formation of high professionalism, the ability to solve scientific and practical problems at the level of modern achievements of civil science. The program is aimed at training highly qualified lawyers who are able to:

  • carry out a comprehensive multilateral analysis of legal phenomena;
  • clearly define the purpose and formulate tasks related to the study and implementation of an urgent scientific or practical problem; 
  • effectively use the acquired knowledge to solve these problems; 
  • make an author's creative contribution to the development of legal knowledge. 

Within the framework of the program, postgraduate students are given the opportunity to conduct research on civil and business law, intellectual property law, corporate law, and general issues of private law.

Ruchkina Gulnara Flyurovna

  • Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation, Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation
  • Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor of the Department of Legal Regulation of Economic Activity
  • Since 2008, she has been an expert in assessing the quality of education. Prof. Ruchkina is a member of: the Expert Council of the Moscow City Duma Commission on Legislation; the Expert Council under the Federal Tax Service of Russia on improving the practice of applying insolvency (bankruptcy); Association of Lawyers of Russia; Scientific Advisory Council at the Arbitration Court of the Moscow region. 
  • Prof. Ruchkina is a member of the Editorial Boards of the following journals: “Business Law", “Economics. Taxes. Law", “Financial Law", “Bulletin of the Financial University", “Modern Lawyer", “Taxes", “Property Relations in the Russian Federation", “Finance: Theory and Practice", and the Editor-in-Chief and Chairman of the Editorial Board of the journal “Banking Law".

Private Law (Civilistic) Science

Postgraduate students study key theoreticalapproaches, concepts and scientific schools in the field of private law.

History and Philosophy of Science

PhD students study the problems of philosophical understanding of science as a whole and the specifics of the problems of individual branches of scientific knowledge.

Theory and Methodology of Teaching

The discipline “Theory and Methodology of Teaching” is a mandatory discipline for all areas of training of scientific and pedagogical personnel in postgraduate studies in the curricula of the Financial University. Its main goal is to enlighten postgraduate students on theoretical issues of psychology and pedagogy of higher education, on teaching methods at the university level, the use of various forms and methods of teaching, control and organization of independent work of students.
