Program description

The program "Information Technology Management in the Digital Economy" was developed by professors of the Department of Business Informatics of the Financial University together with the program partners, representing IT companies of the Russian market. Students who successfully complete the program can apply for positions as heads of IT services of companies, heads of major projects in the field of automation and business transformation, heads of departments in the field of business analysis. The program is supported by the International Institute of Business Analysis and the Union of IT Directors of Russia, whose members give various courses within the period of studies. Graduates are in demand by well-known consulting and IT companies, IT services of major Russian and foreign corporations. Among the disciplines that students study are: "Strategic IT Management"; "Crosscutting Technologies of the Digital Economy"; "Finance, Financial Analytics and Marketing in IT", "Design Thinking", etc.

Strategic Information Technology Audit

Students learn how to audit an enterprise's IS in terms of its alignment with strategic business goals.

Internet Entrepreneurship

This discipline introduces students to the types of entrepreneurship on the Internet, learning how to use off-the-shelf solutions and develop some of their own.

SAS/ SAP-based Financial Analysis

In this discipline, students learn how to use analytical tools for financial analysis of enterprise activities using SAS and SAP solutions as examples.

Finance in Information Technology

In this discipline, students are introduced to IT budgeting techniques and types of resource sourcing.

IT Project Portfolio Management

Students get project portfolio management skills, allowing them to integrate IT projects in an organization with common strategic objectives and resources.

The principal difference between the master’s degree program in the concentration “Business Informatics” is the maximum involvement in its implementation of existing practitioners, specialists who are currently implementing programs for digital transformation of companies, IT services management and professionals with experience in developing and implementing projects for business processes’ digitalization.
