Since the late 80-s of the twentieth century, financial engineering has been rapidly developing as a new direction in financial markets based on securities and derivative transactions. Its main content is the construction of complex financial products for risk management, liquidity and profitability, the creation of new financial instruments, stock market segments and combined investment strategies in accordance with the structure of demand presented by clients of investment and commercial banks. An integral part of financial engineering is the securitization of traditional banking and insurance products, the creation of financial instruments’ unique compositions based on their risk, profitability and liquidity that meet the characteristics and market interests. The securities and derivatives market is a high-tech market in which only professionals with analytical thinking, the ability to financial creativity, the ability to freely apply knowledge in financial mathematics, information technology and international finance are able to work successfully.
