The Faculty of Taxes, Audit and Business Analysis is Russia’s leading center for training specialists in accounting, analysis, audit and taxation, a forge of personnel for business, the largest consulting companies, and tax authorities. Innovative educational programs implemented at the faculty, project approach, close relationship with employers – all this is the “starting capital” for the future successful career of our graduates..

The program “Taxes, Audit and Business Analysis” embodies the long-term experience of the Financial University in training personnel for accounting, analytical, control and tax departments of companies and government agencies. Particular attention is paid to practice-oriented training, attracting practitioners from leading consulting companies and professional associations, as well as government agencies.

Training at the Faculty of Taxes, Audit and Business Analysis is conducted using a project approach, the curricula provide workshops on working in professional IT systems (1C: Enterprise, AIS Nalog, etc.), and the Bloomberg laboratory.

Our students are given the possibility of passing the qualifying exams for the international professional association in the field of finance and accounting ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).

Scientific work is an obligatory component of the educational process, it is conducted in relevant areas of modern research in the fields of accounting, analysis, audit, and taxation. It allows students to prepare scientific publications, reports at domestic and international conferences, to win prizes at competitions, and Olympiads.

We offer our students a vast selection of internships (more than 230 contracts): the largest consulting companies (PwC, KPMG, Deloitte, EY, etc.), tax authorities (Central Federal Tax Service of Russia, Interregional Inspections for the largest taxpayers, the Federal Tax Service for Moscow and the Moscow region, tax authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation), large companies, banks, government agencies. About the concentration:

Training of specialists with fundamental practice-oriented knowledge in the field of financial and managerial accounting, analytical activities, auditing: study of Russian and international accounting standards, financial reporting (IFRS), skills in analyzing operational and investment processes, financial and consolidated reporting, study of data analysis and forecasting technologies.

About the concentration:

The concentration is located at the junction of three areas: accounting, analysis, and law. Our graduates possess in-depth knowledge of the modern tax system and know the specifics of taxation of various types of activities (including taxation of mining, financial activities), obtain skills of system analysis and forecasting in taxation, tax planning, tax dispute resolution and GR. We also train our students how to work in 1C: Enterprise and modern automated control systems for calculating and paying taxes (AIS Nalog, ASC VAT). The program is accredited by the Association of Tax Consultants.

The concentration is located at the junction of three spheres: world economics, taxation and customs. Our students obtain substantial knowledge in international taxation, customs and tariff regulation, tax and customs control. We offer an in-depth study of English, provide training for the LCCI International Qualifications certificate, confirming the level of English proficiency in business, accounting, and finance.

Our graduates excel in conducting audits and evaluating their results, performing audit procedures and providing other audit services, risk analysis and assessment with deep knowledge of accounting methodology. PwC offers an early professional training program “Audit Professional", which allows students to immerse themselves in the profession of an auditor, i.e., to implement audit projects for specific companies and to prepare an audit report based on the results obtained.

Tax and Accounting Workshop in 1C: Enterprise

Students learn to work in one of the most common accounting, tax and management accounting automation systems on the market (including payroll and personnel management), economic and organizational activities of the enterprise.

Data Analysis and Forecasting Technologies

Students study big data processing and analysis technologies, multidimensional statistical analysis, as well as data forecasting technologies.

International Business Communication (in English)

Preparation for passing the LCCI International Qualifications certificate, confirming the level of English language proficiency in business, accounting, and finance.

International Tax Agreements

The discipline includes the history of the emergence, development, structure of international tax agreements and the practice of applying tax agreements in the Russian Federation and abroad.

Accounting and Taxation of Banks and Non-Credit Financial Organizations

Students study the key features of the organization of accounting and the formation of accounting and financial statements in these organizations. This discipline is dedicated to studying accounting of the bank’s capital and funds, non-cash settlements, loans and deposits, cash and foreign currency transactions, securities transactions, and etc.

Audit of Financial Sector Companies

Students learn to conduct audits of banks and non-credit financial organizations, taking into account the specifics of their activities and the organization of accounting, to check income and expenses, reserves, and to carry out an audit of the internal control system of the organization, etc.

Accounting, Reporting and Taxation of Fuel and Energy Sector Organizations

Students study the features of financial accounting and reporting, taxation of oil and gas industry entities, calculation and payment of mineral extraction tax as well as numerous fees and payments related to environmental taxation.

Business Analysis

Business Analysis is an analytical basis for justifying management decisions. Students study the methodological tools of business analysis, risks, and control of implementing the results of business analysis of the activities of an economic entity, and analytical support for the sustainable development of economic entities.

Financial Accounting (Advanced Course)

The purpose of the discipline is to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills that allow an external auditor to assess the correctness of the actions of officials in financial accounting and financial reporting, and to form professional judgment related to the choice of accounting methods for assets, liabilities, and capital, as well as disclosure of information to interested users.

Taxation of Businesses and Households

One of the fundamental disciplines where students study the mechanism of calculating and paying VAT and excise taxes, personal income tax and insurance premiums, corporate income tax, property taxes, mineral extraction tax, other taxes and fees.

Analysis of Financial Statements, Operational and Investment Processes

A group of three disciplines in which students learn to analyze the financial and economic activities of companies according to financial reporting indicators and to justify optimal management decisions based on the results of the analysis.

International Financial Reporting Standards

IFRS are the generally accepted accounting and reporting standard in the European Union, Asia, and South America. IFRS allow businesses and investors to make qualified financial decisions and understand what is happening to the company

Accelerated training (3 years) in the concentration “Audit and Internal Control” is provided for college graduates with early professional specialization from the 1st year in the field of accounting methodology and corporate reporting, as well as financial control.

Thanks to the close partnership with the Federal Tax Service, students are trained on simulators of information systems used by tax authorities.

Graduates receive an exemption from passing the ACCA F1-F3 and F9 qualification exams. Students enjoy the information support of ACCA.
