Program description

The program is designed to train highly qualified financial specialists with deep competencies in the field of data processing and analysis, forecasting and modeling, who have gained knowledge not only in the field of economics, but also fully mastered IT technologies that allow them to work in various fields of economic activity, including financial analysts.

Students have a full cycle of financial and economic disciplines: Finance, including Corporate and Public, Accounting and Statistics, Economic Analysis and Financial Modeling. But students also gain extensive digital competencies by studying digital mathematics in R and Excel, Python programming and Data Processing, Machine Learning Methods in Economics and much more. Training in this program gives you the opportunity to become a modern specialist who has received fundamental knowledge in the field of information technology and finance.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will be able to

  • Master key competencies in economics, financial and investment analysis, accounting and reporting, programming in Python, Java development for Data Science, methods, and tools of predictive analytics, etc.
  • Work as financial analysts and conduct expert and analytical research for economic analysis centers, the public sector, public organizations, ranking agencies, the IT industry, the real sector of the economy, as well as in scientific and educational organizations.
  • Carry out independent search, processing, analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of financial and economic information, be able to work with large amounts of information using modern information and communication technologies, analytical, accounting and control activities.
  • Participate in project activities, coordinate the work of project teams, design and monitor the results of project activities.
  • Prepare information reviews and analytical reports for solving professional tasks considering Russian and international standards at the micro, meso and macro levels based on algorithms, techniques, software products used in practical work.

Corporate Finance

The discipline is aimed at the modern knowledge formation in corporate finance and the financial market, disclosure, and interpretation of financial information, as well as the acquisition of managerial decision-making skills in the field of cash flows.

Finance

The discipline involves the study of finance, financial transactions, financial system, financial resources, financial crises, professional ethics, functional foundations of financial management.

Financial Planning and Forecasting

The discipline includes the study of the following problems, such as formation of modern knowledge and skills for strategic decision-making, as well as choice of goals according to the reality of their achievement with available financial resources, depending on external conditions and coordination of future financial flows.

Java for Data Science

It is aimed at learning the basics of Java, object-oriented programming, and Spring. Students will learn how to use these technologies to create an API.

Python Programming and Data Processing

It provides for the study of the Python language basics, which will be useful in solving a wide range of tasks – from data analysis to the development of new software products.

Databases and SQL Programming

The program allows you to master the designing and developing skills using the SQL programming language, also:

to modify databases;

to create databases in a DBMS;

to design databases;

to formulate queries to the database in SQL.

Python for Economists, Advanced Level

It gives you the opportunity to learn how to use basic tools and approaches in Python to start working with data, use the main analytical libraries NumPy, SciPy, Pandas for working with data, data visualization, using teaching methods with and without a teacher, creating neural networks.

Analysis and Technologies of Big Data Processing

The program provides an opportunity to gain knowledge, theoretical and practical skills on the application of big data processing technologies in modern IT infrastructure to solve economic problems. Students will know more about:

techniques and methods of big data analysis and processing;

big data processing technologies;

efficient data use in the organization;

features of big data technologies’ implementation in practice;
