Program description

The program is aimed at training qualified experts in global economy and world finance.

The program is designed to provide systematic knowledge about world economic development and world finance as an interconnected system, to endow alumni with theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

In November 2021, the academic program passed the international and professional as well as public accreditation conducted by the National Center for Professional and Public Accreditation, which is part of the European Quality Assurance Register of Education (EQAR) and the Asia-Pacific Quality Register of Education (APQR).

Information about this program is available in the European Register of Accredited Programs (Database of External Quality Assurance Results – DEQAR).

In December 2022, the educational program passed the professional and public accreditation conducted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation: compliance with the professional standards “Specialist in foreign economic activity” was confirmed.

As part of the program, several disciplines are implemented in English when choosing training modules for 3rd, 4th years. Interactive and computer learning technologies are widely used during studying the program compulsory disciplines. Workshops, business games, strategic sessions, panel discussions in the format of conferences and round tables are practiced.

Alumni of the program can count on a professional career both in various state institutions (in international cooperation units) and in companies implementing international investment projects and foreign trade operations; in international companies, banks and international financial institutions, in consulting companies, in export support and promotion institutes, in research centers specializing in research of international commodity and financial markets.

Program description

The program is aimed at training international-level personnel with knowledge of two foreign languages based on the introduction into the educational process of the latest achievements of science and practice in global economy, international business, and international economic relations, as well as an organic combination of Russian higher education’s best features with new requirements dictated by modern processes and challenges of globalization, and the economic knowledge development. Special attention is paid to the convergence of theory and practice in the educational process, as well as considering the employers’ requirements for academic program’s alumni. As part of the academic program, an active research work is being conducted, the main directions of which are studies of the globalization problem, the latest trends in the global economy and its resource potential, trade policy, directions of international economic global regulation development and monetary and financial relations. The problems of research and development work (R&D) meet the needs of foreign economic activity development in Russian companies.

Career

The main consumers of specialists in the labor market in this profile are structural divisions of large public and private companies associated with the development of foreign economic relations, international investment cooperation, the organization of settlements on international trade and investment, as well as financial transactions.

Program description

The program is aimed at training personnel with knowledge of two foreign languages based on the introduction into the educational process of the latest scientific achievements in international activities of companies, banks and exchanges, public administration institutions, as well as an organic combination of Russian higher education with new requirements and modern trends’ challenges characteristic in international monetary development, credit, and financial relations. Particular attention is paid to the convergence of theory and practice in the educational process, as well as considering the requirements for alumni of the employers’ academic program. During studying the compulsory disciplines of the program, interactive and computer learning technologies are widely used: business games, creative tasks, conversations on a given topic, presentations. As part of the academic program, active research work is being conducted, the main directions of which are studies of problems and new trends in the global financial markets’ development, the world monetary and financial system, regional monetary and economic integration, international activities of leading multinational companies and banks. The problems of research work meet the needs of Russian government bodies, companies and banks working in international monetary, credit and financial relations. Practitioners are involved in conducting classes. During the classes, students discuss topical issues of international finance, actively work with information and analytical databases: Cbonds, Interfax, SPARK, BAHA, WIND.

Educational and industrial practice is conducted in various ministries and departments, including the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of the City of Moscow, public and private companies and banks, research institutes, including the Financial Research Institute of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. It is aimed at forming a typology of international organizations, the North American economies, the economies of the Asia-Pacific region developed countries, the economies of developing countries, the economies of the Middle East (West Asia), the economies of the Latin American region leaders – Brazil and Mexico, the economies of countries with economies in transition, the problematic situations of national economies.

Theory and Practice of Conducting International Negotiations (in English)

This is a discipline to choose. The purpose of the discipline is to learn the principles and forms of modern negotiation practice and other aspects of international trade negotiations.

Reengineering of Business Processes in International Business Based on Financial Technologies (in English)

This is a discipline to choose. The content of the discipline is structured according to the following topics, such as a process approach to building an organization, the main elements of the process, methods of process modeling, methods of process analysis, mathematical methods used for process analysis, concepts of process improvement.

Fundamentals of Economic Diplomacy

This discipline is a discipline to choose. The purpose of the discipline is to introduce students to the economic diplomacy concept as a tool for ensuring national interests, to study the types of economic diplomacy, the features of economic diplomacy of foreign countries.

Foreign Economic Policy and Foreign Economic Activity

This is a mandatory discipline of the academic program profile module. The purpose of the discipline is to study foreign economic policy, its essence, goals, main directions and concepts, foreign economic policy of Russia and state regulation of foreign economic activity in modern conditions, organizations promoting the development of foreign economic activity in Russia, foreign economic activity of enterprises, counterparties in international commercial transactions, foreign trade transactions, the effectiveness of enterprises’ foreign trade activities, monetary and financial relations of enterprises with foreign partners, fundamentals of risk management and insurance in the foreign economic activity of the enterprise.
