Program description

The program is aimed at training international-level personnel with knowledge of two foreign languages (Oriental and English) based on the introduction of the latest achievements of science and practice in world economy, international business, and international economic relations into the educational process. Special attention is paid to the study of history, culture, the peculiarities of the national economies’ development and the specifics of doing business in the eastern regions and the processes of building intercultural communication with representatives of the eastern countries. At the same time, the program is focused on the training of international economists based on the requirements of the professional standard “Specialist in Foreign Economic Activity”.

As part of the educational program implementation, active research work is being conducted, the main directions of which are studies of current trends and problems in the development of the world economy and international goods and services’ markets in general, as well as the positions of the Eastern countries on them, the directions of institutional development of international economic relations and the transformation of Russian foreign economic policy and relations towards the eastern regions. The problems of research and development work (R&D) meet the needs of the foreign economic activity development of Russian companies.

The main consumers of specialists in the labor market in this profile are structural divisions of large public and private companies, relevant ministries and departments, primarily related to the development of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and the Middle East, Turkey and India.

National Economies of the Eastern Countries

The discipline “National Economies of the Eastern Countries” is a discipline to choose of the profile cycle. It is aimed at forming an idea about the typology of the Eastern countries, about the structure, trends and tendencies in their national economies’ development, about the natural potential and its importance in ensuring the economic growth of the Eastern countries, about the role of the Eastern countries in the global economy, about the peculiarities of doing business and building foreign economic policy in the Eastern countries. The discipline helps to form skills for the formation of ideas about the national economies of the Eastern countries.

Theory and Practice of Conducting International Negotiations (in English)

This discipline is a discipline to choose. The purpose of the discipline is to master the principles and forms of modern negotiation practice and other aspects of international trade negotiations used in the organization and technical support of a foreign trade contract.

Economic Diplomacy of the Eastern Countries

This is a discipline to choose and belongs to the elective cycle of the profile. The discipline purpose is to introduce students to economic diplomacy as a tool for ensuring the state national interests in building favorable external relations, to study the types, forms and methods of modern economic diplomacy, its role in promoting and supporting international investment activities, its features in the Eastern countries. The academic discipline helps to form the generalization skills of domestic and foreign practice on the study of economic diplomacy peculiarities of the Eastern countries.

Eastern Countries on the World Markets of Goods and Services

This discipline is an elective discipline of the profile cycle and is aimed at forming ideas about the role of Eastern countries in the world markets of goods and services. Particular attention is paid to the situation analysis on the world markets of energy resources, food, industrial goods and technologies and the definition of positions as well as features of the Eastern countries interaction on them. As part of the discipline study, the problems of the Eastern countries as participants in key world markets are identified. The academic discipline includes a wide range of methods that allow analyzing and predicting the assessment of the role of the Eastern countries in the world markets of goods and services.

Eastern Countries in the Global Energy Market

The academic discipline is aimed at forming an understanding of the Eastern countries’ place in the world energy market, their role in ensuring global energy security, trends in the development of the fuel and energy complex in the Eastern countries. During the discipline, the mechanisms of investment activity and business conditions in the Eastern countries’ energy sector are studied, special attention is paid to energy policy in this group of countries and the Eastern countries’ interaction with international organizations involved in international energy management. The discipline helps to develop skills for the formation of ideas about the role of the Eastern countries in the global energy market.

Foreign Economic Policy and Foreign Economic Activity

This is a mandatory discipline of the academic program profile module. The purpose of the discipline is to study foreign economic policy, its essence, goals, main directions and concepts, foreign economic policy of Russia and foreign economic activity state regulation in modern conditions, organizations promoting the development of foreign economic activity in Russia, foreign economic activity of enterprises, counterparties in international commercial transactions, foreign trade transactions, the effectiveness of enterprises’ foreign trade activities, monetary and financial relations of enterprises with foreign partners, fundamentals of risk management and insurance in the foreign economic activity of the enterprise.
