Within the framework of the educational program “Economics and Finance", part-time mode of study is offered at the Faculty of Finance, concentration “Finance and Investment".
During their senior year, students choose a specialization at one of the three departments: the Department of Corporate Finance and Corporate Governance, the Department of Public Finance, and the Department of Banking and Financial Markets.
The concentration is practice-orientated, that is why specialists in the accounting, analytical and control sphere as well as leading teachers of the Financial University are widely involved in the educational process.
The concentration focuses on the development of competencies for developing and adopting investment and financial decisions, analyzing the current state and identifying trends in the development of the financial market and its sectors, assessing public policy directions and their consequences for the activities of economic entities, applying modern methods and information technologies in solving professional tasks. The concentration has been prepared taking into account the requirements of the professional standards “Specialist in Financial Consulting", “Specialist in Working with Investment Projects" and is designed, among other things, for applicants – graduates of specialized colleges, who receive individually tailored curricula (3.5 years).
Our graduates are employed by financial authorities in the commercial sector of the economy. They possess the methodology of applied issues in the field of corporate and public finance for the development of financial and investment solutions using the tools of the financial market. As part of the training, students acquire knowledge in the field of public sector finance and business, investment decision-making, project, and risk management.
The discipline forms the knowledge and analytical skills necessary for the management of financial resources in the public sector and financial decision-making by institutional units of the public sector.
The purpose of the discipline is to form basic knowledge and practical skills in the field of finance of commercial organizations necessary for effective management of financial processes in key sectors of the real economy.
The discipline forms knowledge and practical skills of investment by economic entities as well as state and municipal management in the field of investment decision-making.
The discipline forms a system of modern knowledge in the field of valuation, which allows to determine the value of a business as the main characteristic when making investment and financial decisions.
Students obtain modern knowledge in the field of investment analysis and evaluation of investment activity both at the macro level and at the level of an individual enterprise, taking into account factors of economic uncertainty.
Within the framework of this discipline, issues related to the basics of investment project management, management of the pre-investment, investment and operational stages of an investment project, evaluation of the effectiveness of various types of investment projects as well as project financing will be considered.
Our students are employed by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, Federal Treasury, Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, analytical, economic, financial, investment services of companies in the real and banking sectors of the economy, analytical departments of investment companies and private equity funds, investment departments and corporate finance departments of banks, consulting companies, etc.
Graduates of specialized colleges receive a reduced individually tailored curriculum which takes up to 3 years.
The uniqueness of the specialization, which allows you to gain knowledge and skills in financial management of commercial, state and non-profit organizations of various forms of ownership and spheres of activity: the real and financial sectors of the economy, trading, IT and consulting companies, etc.
Interactive educational technologies (research projects, computer workshops, including at the BLOOMBERG International Financial Laboratory, etc.), as well as information and analytical systems for professional market analysis (SPARK, FIRA PRO, RUSLANA, Thomson Reuters Eikon, IMF Data, etc.) are used in the process of studying the profile disciplines.
The educational program has been developed taking into account the requirements of a number of professional standards, including “Specialist in Financial Consulting”, “Specialist in Working with Investment Projects”; the syllabi of the disciplines are developed together with the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and large Russian business structures, which provide practice-oriented training.
Part-time studies: classes are held in the evening (from 18.55 to 22.00) on weekdays, which allows students to successfully combine their studies and job.
