Program description

The bachelor's degree program “Applied Information Systems in Economics and Finance" in the field of study 09.03.03 “Applied Computer Science" is intended for those who want to become a professional in the field of automation and digitalization of any spheres and types of business.

Graduates of our program will professionally master the tools for developing information systems for economic purposes and, above all, the most popular platform 1C:Enterprise, designed to create business applications and information systems of any scale. Moreover, our students master modern technologies for creating digital models of real-world objects using methods of artificial intelligence, machine learning, the Internet of Things, robotics, computer vision, virtual/augmented reality technologies. They will also learn how to carry out project activities at all stages of the IS life cycle, starting from collecting and analyzing requirements for the system under development and finishing with its implementation and operation. Last but not least, our graduates create information systems for automating activities and digital transformation of organizations.

The educational program combines fundamental training in economics, mathematics, algorithmizing, programming, structures, and databases with practical training in the fields of:

  • conducting a survey of organizations, identifying information needs of users;
  •  modeling of applied (business) processes;
  • design and development of software and information systems by types of software;
  • software engineering;
  • performing work and managing work on the creation (modification) and maintenance of information systems that automate organizational management tasks and business processes;
  • design and development of mobile, web, and cloud applications;
  • engineering practices of software development organization;
  • standards and technologies for project management of software and IP implementations of various levels of complexity and scale;
  • development and implementation of data processing and analysis methods, including artificial intelligence technologies, during the process of developing information systems, platforms, and services.

The training program is conducted completely online (you do not need to come to the campus to attend classes). You will be able to study online from anywhere in the world. You will need to come to the University only at the end of your studies to pass the State Final Examination. All lectures will be recorded and be available for students to review after the class. Seminars and tutorials will be held in real time on the Teams platform on Saturdays from 10.00 to 18.00.

Key disciplines of the concentration

Database Management Systems

Students will study the topics related to the classification of DBMS by their functional purpose, concepts of relational and object-oriented databases, new methodologies for building non-relational databases (NoSQL).

Development of Business Applications on the 1C:Enterprise

The purpose of the discipline is to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in creating corporate systems and web services using 1C technologies and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

Enterprise Architecture and IT Infrastructure

The course deals with the development and use of enterprise information technology architecture. The concept of Enterprise Architecture, which includes aspects such as Business Architecture, Information Architecture, Application Systems Architecture and Technological Architecture, is a way to combine and synchronize the functional and business needs of organizations with the capabilities of information technology.

IT Project Management and Standards for Complex Implementations

Students obtain managerial worldview based on the methodology, standards, and analysis of international practice and modern tools in the field of IT project management. The course discusses the methodology of the implementation of information systems, the composition and content of the work performed, and the methodological foundations of the implementation project management. The technology of product creation is described in a number of implementation standards developed by leading suppliers of information technologies and systems.

Data Analysis Technologies and Machine Learning

Students explore modern problems and methods of applied computer science and scientific and technical development of information and communications technology, the ability to explore the patterns of formation and development of the information society.

Algorithms and Data Structures in Python

Within the framework of this fundamental annual course, students acquire not only programming skills in one of the most popular languages, but also obtain knowledge about key data structures and algorithms.
