Program description

The program includes the study of the tourist business management system specifics at the national and international levels with the possibility of in-depth analysis of the tourism industry financial mechanisms.

The key program characteristics are practice-orientation, interdisciplinarity, interactivity, multimedia.

The academic program is relevant, innovative, practice-oriented, aimed at professional training of an active, competitive leader and a new generation specialist familiar with international management practices, possessing analytical skills in tourism and hotel business.

Objects of Professional Activity:

  • tourist clusters, creation of tourism products, destinations and design of territorial tourist service programs, certification and cataloging of tourist resources and territories, consumers of tourist services, their requests, needs and key values, labor collectives of tourism industry enterprises
  • tourism product, including basic, additional, and related tourist services, forms and methods of its creation and promotion, modern customer service technologies, including e-commerce, tourist organizations, technological documentation and information resources, consumers of a tourism product, their requests, needs and key values.

Strategic partner of the program is Tourism.RF, a state corporation established by the Government of the Russian Federation for domestic and inbound tourism development in the Russian Federation.

The main tasks of the Tourism.Russia corporation are to reveal the tourist and economic potential of Russia's natural, cultural and historical heritage through the development of comfortable, safe and affordable tourism within the country.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will be able to

  • Develop tourism products and recreational projects, carry out their advertising and promotion.
  • Analyze and evaluate the tourism market development peculiarities, participate in the organization of events using national tourism resources, implement tools for regulating the sustainable development of tourist territories.
  • Make professional management decisions, analyze, systematize, interpret, and evaluate the investment potential of tourism projects and enterprises.
  • Apply a complex of excursion technologies, including methodological support, development, testing, conducting, and evaluating the effectiveness of excursion activities.
  • Apply modern methods of evaluating tourist and recreational projects’ effectiveness.
  • Introduce domestic and foreign practices of projects’ quality management in the field of tourism and hospitality.

Branding of Territories

Theory and practice of Russian and foreign companies in the field of brand development, promotion ,and management in the market. The role of the brand in the modern economic development of the Russian Federation. Legislative framework in the field of brand policy of companies.

Tourist Resources

Theoretical foundations of tourism resource studies. Methodological basis of the discipline. The tourist potential of the territory. Principles of allocating and classifying tourist resources. Natural resources of tourism and their assessment.

Sales Technologies in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry

Features of forming and developing technologies for the sale of services in the tourism and hospitality industry. Modern technologies of sales of services as a tool to improve the efficiency of the enterprise.

Marketing in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry

Key characteristics and features of marketing in the tourism and hospitality industry. The concept of marketing in tourism and hospitality. Marketing technologies in the tourism and hospitality industry.

Business Planning in Tourism and Hospitality

Students will study the main elements of strategic and business planning of a travel company, methods of managing economic indicators of the company’s activities, as well as directions for using the results of business planning in the activities of a travel company

Tourism Business and Tourism Products

While studying the discipline, students get acquainted with the main properties of the tourism product, its characteristics, the complete chain of product creation, its analysis, and cost calculation. Students will have skills in the development of tourism products, entering the market and the main ways of promotion in the market.

The program trains specialists who will work in the tourism and hotel business, in the event sphere, in the creative industry, to create author's projects of tours and the tourist territories' development.
