About the department

The Military Department of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation was established in 1947.

The goal of the establishment of the Military Department is to train sergeants and reserve officers for the Armed Forces of the country with high knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for successful performance of official duties in military accounting specialties.

From the academic year 1952/1953 to the academic year 2015/2016, more than 26,000 students received military education at the Military Department.

By the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No.427-r dated March 13, 2019, a Military Training Center was established at the Federal State Educational Budgetary Institution of Higher Education “Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation”, Moscow.

In accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated July 3, 2019 No. 848, by order of the Rector dated October 10, 2019 No. 2100/o, the “Regulations on the Military Training Center at the FinU” were approved.

Military training at the Military Training Center is organized and conducted in strict accordance with the curriculum. In the process of teaching students, their military education is carried out, knowledge, skills and abilities, psychological qualities necessary for the performance of military service duties are formed.

Students who successfully complete the course of military training and the final training camp are awarded the military rank of “Reserve Lieutenant” or “Reserve Sergeant” upon graduation from the FinU.

Training at the Military Training Center of the Russian Federation - 030400, 030405, 030406, 097000, 140144, 143181 male students, citizens of the Russian Federation, is conducted in accordance with the legislation in force, general military regulations, orders, directives of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, his deputies, combat regulations, orders, instructions of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Ministry of Defense, the Chief of the Russian Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Commander of the Western Military District, as well as the working curriculum approved by the Rector of the FinU.

After the theoretical course of military training, the students complete the final training camp within 30 days.

During the training, special attention is paid to the students’ performance of their functional duties in the positions of their military accounting specialty.

During the study period, students must master tactical, tactical-special, and general military disciplines.

To improve the practical training of the students, a planned training system is used with an educational and training base: simulators, laboratories, classrooms. The trainings are carried out during the scheduled classes at the expense of the time allocated for these purposes by the program.
