About the department

The Department of Banking Automation and Information Technology was established in January 2016. The mission of the Department is to create, accumulate and disseminate knowledge in the field of banking information technology.

The Department launched a meta-subject course “Career Accelerator. BAIT”, which examines the topics of digitization of banks and transformation of banking services, banking IT platforms, modern approaches to data storage, analysis and processing. The aim of the course is to form a systematic vision of the modern landscape of banking IT, from the current mathematical apparatus and algorithms to business models and legislative framework.

The largest financial and IT companies of the Russian Federation became partners of the Department at various times. Currently, the partners of the Department are Gazprombank and the Center for Financial Technologies (CFT).

The goals of the Department:

• To improve the efficiency of specialists and the production and management culture in the field of banking IT;
• To increase the speed of implementing and the number of successfully completed projects in the field of banking IT;
• To involve a significant proportion of the professional audience from the banking IT sphere and exerting a positive authoritative influence on it;
• To develop cooperation between experts-employees of banks and IT companies, and students and faculty for the exchange of best practices and technologies in the field of banking IT.
