About the department

The Center for Political Studies is a structural unit of the Institute of Humanitarian Technologies and Social Engineering of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Mass Communication of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. It was founded in 2011. The mission of the Center is to develop advanced methods and tools of big data analysis for modeling and forecasting socio-political processes. The uniqueness of the Center is an interdisciplinary team with 12 years of experience working with digital footprints, which has its own methods and developments in big data analytics.

Solving practical problems:

• Audit of the Internet communication with the target audience,
• Identifying problems in managing the flow of information in social media,
• Creation of scenario development plans depending on the state of Internet communication,
• Forecasting the growth of the target audience depending on the state of Internet communication,
• Identification of leaders and centers of public opinion and the potential for creating a partner network,
• Identify stakeholders to promote your agenda on social media,
• Testing the perception of Internet content/ APM with eye-tracking,
• Monitoring the implementation of the information campaign of confrontation/external information pressure,
• "Electoral Sociology": The climate of expectations in digital traces,
• Predicting the outcome of the election through digital footprints,
• Implementation of additional training programs in social media analysis,
• Assessment of human resources using instrumental cognitive science.
