Welcome to the Russian World: Language, History, Culture

On February 19, 2021, Financial University launched an additional educational program for students of the gymnasium n.a. M.R. Stefanika (Kosice, Slovakia).

Those gymnasium students, who had already participated in the FinU International School of the Russian Language online, expressed great interest in joining another course in the Russian Language. That is why the International Students and Faculty Department and the Department of Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication initiated a new program "Welcome to the Russian World: Language, History, Culture", which will be held online from February 19 to March 31, 2021.

The Department of Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication have developed a 20-hour syllabus for students of the gymnasium in the field of history and culture in the Russian language, which will help them understand Russian culture, mentality and traditions better. The vocabulary learnt will allow them to understand information in museums, read various mass media sources and history books without using translators. Furthermore, this experience will enable them to shape their vision of Russia, Russian history and the Russian people.

Alexander Linnikov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, opened the event with a welcoming speech:

On behalf of the Financial University and Rector Prof. Mikhail Eskindarov, I would like to wish good luck in your exciting adventure! We are thankful to all those teachers, parents and the FinU team for giving you such an opportunity to learn more about our great country, as well as to strengthen the friendship between Slovakia and Russia
