On February 10, 2021, a series of practical classes in Russian "POTALKUEM" was launched at the Financial University.

The course was created and organised by the International Students and Faculty Department in order to foster the adaptation process of foreign students. Deputy Head of the International Students and Faculty Department Anastasia Voytsitskaya gives classes to foreign students.

The first class took place in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Students from Egypt, China, Turkey, Vietnam, Cameroon, Madagascar, Equatorial Guinea, Zambia and Botswana gathered together to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of Russian literature, expand their vocabulary, learn how to cope with excitement and fear of making mistakes in speaking, and, finally, improve their skills of self-presentation.

Students were asked a question, "If you could invite a famous person to dinner, who would it be?"; some of them mentioned the names of Alexander Pushkin, Vladimir Lenin, Valentina Tereshkova, and they explained exactly why this celebrity. Such keen interest of foreign students in Russian history and cultural heritage is inspiring and encouraging.

During the coming meetings, the students will discuss friendship, family, etiquette, food, travel, art, architecture and books.

The International Students and Faculty Department received a high level of feedback from students, which indicates that the project is interesting and necessary.

We are looking forward to a new meeting!
