Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin enacts an indefinite citywide quarantine starting Monday, March 30, 2020. The self-isolation order will apply to all residents of Moscow and the Moscow region regardless of age. At the same time Moscow citizens are not restricted in both arriving in Moscow or leaving it.
According to the decree, Moscow residents will only be allowed to leave their homes for:
Emergency medical care;
Traveling to work if one is unable to work remotely;
Going to the nearest grocery store or pharmacy;
Walking pets within a 100-meter radius from their residence;
Taking out the rubbish.
"In the coming days citizens will be allowed to leave their houses only having special ID cards issued by the Government of Moscow," Sobyanin said. He stressed that the authorities will be strictly monitoring the situation. However, Sobyanin didn't specify the punishments for violating the stay at home order.
