On October 30, 2024, the Arabist Day was held for the first time on the premises of the FinU. The event was dedicated to the topic of "The Possibilities of Professional Realization for Arabists in the Modern Multipolar World". The event was organized by the Faculty of International Economic Relations in collaboration with the Al-Hadara Center for Arab Culture.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Yemen to the Russian Federation, Mr. Ahmed Salem Al-Waheishi delivered a welcoming speech at the plenary session. Other guests of honor included the director of Al-Hadara, Al-Ammari Mohammed Saleh, and Vice-Rector for Marketing and Working with Applicants, Svetlana Bryukhovetskaya.
After the speech by Pavel Seleznev, Dean of the IER Faculty, three expert speakers shared their professional experiences with the students. Anna Belikova, an advisor to the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group and a senior lecturer at Moscow State University, as well as MGIMO and Head of the RT Protocol Department, Wael Musa, a lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Madina Kalimullina, PhD in Economics and a Certified Shariah Advisor and auditor, and Executive Secretary of the Russian Association of Experts in Islamic Finance. They all shared their knowledge and expertise with the students during a panel discussion moderated by Emilia Bayramova, Deputy Director of the Al-Hadara Center for Arab Culture.
The event was also attended by Arab students and faculty from some of the leading universities in Russia.
At the end of the discussion, all the participants visited a traditional exhibition organized by students from the Al-Hadara Center for Arab Culture and the Aladdin Oriental Club at the Faculty of International and the Middle East Club at the Department of International Business.
