5 October 2024
On October 4, 2024, the results of the Olympiad were announced at the Sirius Educational Center. The winners and prize-winners included 28 schoolchildren, 82 Russian students, and 56 foreign university students. They were recognized at a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, with the FinU Rector Stanislav Prokofiev participating in the event.
The winners of the Olympiad in Economics included students from the Faculty of Economics and Business at the FinU: Timur Kuramisov, Trofim Zasukhin and Elizaveta Petrova. A student from the Faculty of Law at the same university, Maria Barabokhina, was the winner in the Law category. Georgy Antonov, from the FinU Lyceum, won the Olympiad for schoolchildren for a second time.
The winners were presented with awards by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, Rosfinmonitoring Director Yuri Chikhanchin, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Dmitry Afanasyev and Deputy Minister of Education Olga Koludarova, among other honorable guests.
"Today, we are gathered here to celebrate the success of Sirius, which has brought together some of the most talented, professional, and dedicated individuals who are committed to making a positive impact on their communities and countries. You all have an important and significant mission ahead of you, and I believe that your efforts will help to shape the future of your nations.
As the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized at the ceremony, your work will determine the history of your countries, and it is my hope that the spirit of cooperation and unity that has been fostered here will spread throughout the world, helping to push back against the darkness and expand the frontiers of light.
Together, we can create a brighter future for everyone, and I am proud to be a part of this movement."
One of the most significant events of the Olympiad was the "Conversations on Equal Terms" meeting, during which Dmitry Chernyshenko and Yuri Chikhanchin had a personal interaction with the finalists. In this open dialogue, participants discussed the future of the International Movement on Financial Security, the Olympic Games, and the Sodruzhestvo platform.
The Deputy Prime Minister answered questions about the development prospects of the IT sector in Russia and emphasized the high level of Russian programmers. He also drew the attention of participants to the opportunities offered by the Sodruzhestvo platform, which brings together young people from 70 countries. This communication platform will help attract more young people to support the initiative and contribute to its development.
In addition to individual assignments, the final stage program included meetings with invited experts and potential employers, workshops, panel discussions, excursions, and sports competitions. For the first time in the history of the Olympiad, a digital basketball tournament, the Four Continents Championship, was held, with 10 teams competing with participants from 18 countries. The teams tested their skills on a basketball simulator before moving to a streetball court.
Since 2021, intellectual competitions have been held annually on the initiative of Rosfinmonitoring. This year, about 600 students from 36 countries participated in the final stage.
The final week of the Olympiad concluded with a closing ceremony attended by honored guests, during which the results of voting for the symbol of the International Movement on Financial Security were announced. The symbol was the raccoon Fini, who became the guardian of financial system purity.
