The Russian folk sports festival was held at the FinU! On September 21-22, 2024, FinU students took part in the competitions in lapta, tug-of-war and urban sports as part of the teams of their faculties at the Lesnoe Ozero Resort.

The festival opened with a Russian folk team playing lapta with a ball and a racket. It is worth mentioning that for the first time the competition was held on an open multifunctional sports ground, which allows not only classic team games such as football, basketball or volleyball, but also such as lapta, which became the discoverer of the sports ground among sports!

The team of the Faculty of Taxes, Audit and Business Analysis became the winner of the first lapta competitions at the FinU, the silver medals were awarded to the students of the Faculty of International Economic Relations, and the third place went to the athletes of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Mass Communication!

Evgenia Permyakova, a student of the Faculty of Finance, shared her impressions after the competition, "Speed, excitement, adrenaline - these are the words I can use to describe lapta. My team and I really liked and remembered this sport. We are already looking forward to the next competitions! I would like to express my deep gratitude to our University, the Rector and the Student Sports Club for a new, cool and multifunctional playground in such a beloved forest lake".

The festival continued with one of the most lively and emotional sports in the program of the Financial University Spartakiad - tug-of-war. The teams from the Faculty of Higher School of Management, the Faculty of Information Technology and Big Data Analysis and the Faculty of Finance achieved the greatest success in the competition, taking first, second and third place respectively.

The festival ended with one of the corporate sports of the FinU - urban sports. The team from the Faculty of Information Technology and Big Data Analysis was the most accurate in throwing bats and knocking out cities, the second place in the tough competition went to the students of the Faculty of Law, and the bronze medals went to the athletes from the Faculty of Economics and Business.

At the official prize-giving ceremony, the Rector of the University, Stanislav Evgenievich Prokofiev, congratulated the winners and laureates on their well-deserved awards and noted that the FinU is creating a new trend for the revival and development of native Russian sports.
