11 students and alumni of the FinU have become winners of the fifth wave of the Federal Student Startup Competition and will receive one million rubles each to implement their ideas.

The competition is organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia and the Foundation for Assistance of Innovation as part of the federal project "Platform of University Technological Entrepreneurship". The winners of the fifth wave of the initiative were two thousand students from across the country with projects to create new devices and technologies in various fields – from digital systems and medicine to architecture and design.

"Youth entrepreneurship plays an important role in ensuring technological sovereignty, which President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly talked about. Already, we see that about 70% of the applications supported within the framework of Student Startup are aimed at finding solutions in priority areas for Russia. This year the government has increased the Competition funding to 2 billion roubles – 2 thousand participants will receive grants in the amount of 1 million. We have many examples of how a startup has become a world-renowned company. I am convinced that in the future the business projects of the finalists will also contribute to the economic growth of the country," said Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, commenting on the Competition results.
