On July 2, 2024, an expert session was held at the FinU on the development specifics of Islamic banking. FinU conducts professional discussions jointly with the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation.

The expert platform brought together representatives of the academic and banking community. The moderator of the discussion was Dmitry Zaitsev, Accounts Chamber Auditor of the Russian Federation.

The speakers and participants of the meeting were welcomed by Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU, noting the growing importance of Islamic finance in the global financial system. Stanislav Prokofiev expressed confidence that the session will become a platform for the exchange of experience, opinions and an important step in the development of the industry, and will also bring the training of specialists in Islamic banking to a new level.

The rector of the Kadyrov Chechen State University, Zaurbek Saidov, also addressed the participants of the discussion with a welcoming speech, highlighting the importance of cooperation with the FinU to expand the research field on Islamic finance and adapt the best world practices to Russian realities. The Head of the Kadyrov Chechen State University also stressed that combining the expert potential of the academic and professional community in this area will create favorable conditions for the development of Islamic finance and contribute to the sustainable development of the economy.

During the discussion, Oleg Ganeev, Senior Vice President of Sberbank PJSC, Magomed Tashtamirov, Director of the Institute of Economics and Finance of the Kadyrov Chechen State University, and Igor Turuyev, Professor of the Department of World Economy and World Finance at the Faculty of International Economic Relations of the FinU, made presentations.

The experts discussed current trends in the development of the Islamic finance industry, the specifics of the integration of classical and Islamic corporate governance, educational initiatives to train specialists in Islamic finance.
