On 21 June students of the FinU took part in the Open Doors Day of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, where they got to know more about the work of civil servants and learnt about the key skills of modern auditors.

The main principle of the last Open Doors Day was maximum openness and honesty in the dialogue with the students. This principle was followed by all the speakers of the event - auditors, heads and representatives of various departments of the Accounts Chamber. They told the students about the most important skills of a young professional, emphasized the importance of practical education and presented the most important projects of the Accounts Chamber for students.

Special attention was paid at the meeting to the career paths of the alumni and to the new Master's programme of the Department of Basic Accounting at the FinU, which was specially created to train a new generation of state auditors who will work both in the Accounts Chamber itself, in the audit and accounting bodies of the regions, and in commercial audit organizations.

"We have created a unique project. Unlike the traditional university approach, where most disciplines are taught by university faculty and practitioners are usually invited only to give individual lectures or part of the disciplines, our master's programme is initially dominated by practitioner teachers. These are the heads and best specialist auditors of the Accounts Chamber, as well as colleagues from the Federal Treasury. The aim of the programme is to graduate ready-made specialists, and the diploma of our master's programme is a kind of passport to the most interesting profession of a state auditor," says Timur Dyachkov, Acting Director of the Human Resources Development Department of the Accounts Chamber.

Students from the RANEPA, the Higher School of Economics, Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics also took part in the Open Doors Day of the Accounts Chamber.
