The Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and the Chechen State University will jointly conduct master's programs in Islamic banking and sustainable development. The rectors of the two universities signed the relevant agreements on May 29 at the FinU. Education in the new programs will begin on September 1.
"The signing of agreements on the implementation of master's degree network programs with one of the leading universities in Russia, Chechen State University, is certainly a landmark event for our University and brings interaction with the regions to a qualitatively new level. I am confident that the launch of this large-scale educational project will become a driver of inter-university cooperation in all areas, will allow students to acquire a unique set of skills in economics and environmental management, and will also help solve the important task of training and attracting young specialists to the economy of the regions," said Stanislav Prokofiev at the signing ceremony.
The Rector of the FinU emphasized the established relations of the Chechen State University with the leading universities of the Islamic world, and also emphasized the experience of the University in the implementation of ESG policies at the regional level.
In turn, the Rector of the Chechen State University, Zaurbek Saidov, thanked the FinU administration for the productive joint work and emphasized the practical nature of the cooperation, "This is a new page for the Chechen State University. I hope that the signing of the agreement will lead to cooperation between our faculty and scientific communities and mark the beginning of a strong friendship between our universities".
The agreements provide for the joint implementation of the master's program "Economics and Ecodesign of Sustainable Development", which will provide future students with a unique set of competencies and practical skills combining two sought-after specialties - ecologists and economists. Field research within the master's program will be organized on the basis of the carbon landfill of the Chechen State University named after A.A. Kadyrov.
The second ambitious educational project of the FinU and CHSU is aimed at training a new generation of specialists for the banking sector as a part of the educational program "Classical and Islamic Models of Modern Banking" in the concentration 38.04.08 "Finance and Credit".
The training will be conducted in a mixed format, including online disciplines. Practical training, research work and state examination will be carried out together.
During their visit to the FinU, the delegation of the Chechen State University also visited the Museum of the FinU, the CyberHub Center, where they got to know VR technologies, and the Lyceum of the FinU.
