On May 23, 2024, parliamentary hearings on improving tax legislation were held in the State Duma. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov, heads of factions and chairmen of committees, representatives of regions, public and business associations, expert and scientific communities.

Opening the hearing, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin noted that the tax legislation system should be fair for citizens and businesses, as well as create conditions for development.

"The tax system should be stable and predictable, as well as ensure the flow of resources to solve large-scale government tasks in the socio-economic sphere, stimulate investment activity of companies, maintain healthy competition and create equal conditions," Minister ща Finance Anton Siluanov said.

The parliamentary hearings were attended by Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU, Mikhail Eskindarov, President, FinU Academic Supervisor, as well as faculty members and more than 150 students of the University – representatives of the Faculty of Finance and the Faculty of Taxes, Audit and Business Analysis.

Commenting on the results of the meeting, Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU, stressed the importance of stability and predictability of the tax system for businesses and citizens, "Today, the main issues of the tax system transformation were discussed in an expanded format. Special attention was paid to the implementation of the fiscal function and the fair construction of the tax system, taking into account the social support of citizens. The main task of the tax system is to provide sources for the implementation of national development goals, including solving social problems, developing the economy, and ensuring a balanced budget system at all levels. At the same time, the most important element is the stability and predictability of the tax system for at least 6 years," Stanislav Prokofiev said.
