On May 7-8, 2024, a delegation of the FinU headed by Vice-Rector for Social Work and Extracurricular Alexander Kozharinov took part in the III International Scientific and Practical Conference "Patriotic Education and Preservation of Historical Memory in the Higher Education System: Current State and Prospects", which was held in Minsk.
The issues of patriotism and patriotic education of young people in the current geopolitical situation are of key importance in the work of higher educational institutions. It is symbolic that the conference, jointly organized by the Belarus State University of Economics and the FinU, took place on the eve of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War.
During the Plenary session of the Conference, Alexander Kozharinov presented a report on "Patriotic Education as the Basis of State Youth Policy in Higher Education: the Experience of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation", in which he shared the experience of educational work of our University and proposed a methodology for patriotic work with students, which can be extrapolated to other universities. The report aroused great interest among the audience, and a substantive discussion took place following its results.
The FinU delegation also included the Head of the Department of Humanities N.A. Orekhovskaya, Director of the Center for Political Studies A.Y. Dombrovskaya, Associate Professor of the Department of Humanities M.N. Svintsova, who not only presented their reports, but also moderated sections of the Conference.
Also on the sidelines of the Conference, meetings of the leadership of the two universities and discussion of promising projects for implementation within the framework of a joint roadmap of events took place.
