On May 14, 2024, an important and bright event took place at the FinU – an online signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement with School No. 1 in the Qingdao West Coast New Area (China) was held. Our University has been cooperating with Chinese universities for decades, and this is our first project, where the main role is assigned to the Lyceum of FinU. When working on the Agreement, both sides were guided by the need to create opportunities for communication among school-age youth - the implementation of academic exchanges between students and faculty, which will contribute to strengthening friendship and cooperation between our peoples.
In her welcoming speech, Vice-Rector for Educational and Methodological Work, Professor Ekaterina Kameneva, noted the importance of establishing cooperation and organizing exchange programs at the secondary school level and expressed confidence that this cooperation would be interesting and fruitful for both students and faculty.
In her greeting, Ms. Zhang Cheng Xia, Chief Inspector of the Department for Supervision of Education of the Government of the Qingdao West Coast New Area, stressed the tradition of cooperation between our countries and peoples in many areas of life, the authorities of the Qingdao District assign a special place to international cooperation of secondary schools with schools in Russia to deepen understanding of the history and culture of our countries.
The secretary of the party committee of School No. 1, Mr. Tian Changjiang, expressed hope for the constant strengthening of exchanges and cooperation between the two schools, the expansion of the international horizons of faculty and students, as well as the fact that friendship between China and Russia will last forever.
At the ceremony, the parties exchanged presentations of their schools, and also presented creative performances performed by students – Lyceum students presented modern dance and the famous song by Leonid Utesov "Heart", and students of School No. 1 performed a Chinese melody on the national stringed instrument guzhen and the Russian song "Ural Mountain Ash" in Chinese translation.
Despite the fact that the event was held online, the atmosphere was solemn and very friendly, as if the participants of the meeting were not separated by thousands of kilometers. Good luck with the new project!
