On May 14, 2024, the deputies of the State Duma considered and approved the candidacies for the positions of federal ministers submitted by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin. 

Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU, took part in the meeting.

Thus, Valery Falkov was approved for the post of Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia. During the meeting, Valery Falkov spoke about plans aimed at solving the tasks set by Russian President Vladimir Putin, paid special attention to the work to achieve the country's technological leadership and the international cooperation development in higher education and science. 

"I would like to emphasize that for us the main priority is to improve the quality of education. In this matter, you and I are not just partners, we must unite to achieve this goal," Vyacheslav Volodin said, addressing the candidate for the post of head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Deputies supported Sergey Kravtsov's candidacy for the post of Minister of Education of Russia.  In his speech, he spoke about the changes that have occurred in the education system: important laws have been adopted that provide quality education, support for faculty, and a system of educational work with schoolchildren. Sergey Kravtsov also stressed that the education and transfer of values from teachers to students is the foundation of the traditional learning system, which will never be replaced by AI. 

By an absolute majority of votes, the following positions of ministers were approved:

·                     Anton Alikhanov — Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation,

·                     Mikhail Degtyarev — Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation,

·                     Alexander Kozlov — Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation,

·                     Anton Kotyakov — Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation,

·                     Sergey Kravtsov — Minister of Education of the Russian Federation,

·                     Oksana Lut — Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation,

·                     Olga Lyubimova — Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation,

·                     Mikhail Murashko — Minister of Health of the Russian Federation,

·                     Maxim Reshetnikov — Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation,

·                     Anton Siluanov — Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation,

·                     Roman Starovoit — Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation,

·                     Irek Faizullin — Minister of Construction and Housing of the Russian Federation;

·                     Valery Falkov — Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation;

·                     Sergey Tsivilev — Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation;

·                     Alexey Chekunkov — Appointed Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic,

·                     Maksut Shadaev — Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation.

Commenting on the results of the meeting, Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU, noted the importance of joint work of the academic community and government representatives to achieve national development goals, stressed the role of science as a driver of national economic development and innovative transformation of management processes and expressed confidence in expanding cooperation in key areas of activity.
