From May 2 to 12, 2024, the IV Art and Industrial Exhibition-Forum “Unique Russia” was held in Gostiny Dvor in Moscow.

Every year, the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, together with the Association of University Alumni, actively participates in the organization and holding of the exhibition-forum “Unique Russia”. This year, the exposition of the FinU stand was presented with exhibits dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the University and the 190th anniversary of the birth of D. I. Mendeleev. Also at the stand, visitors of the exhibition could see exhibits from the FinU museum and the personal collections of FinU alumni.

On May 6, 2024, the presentation of the book "Encyclopedia of Economic Works of D.I. Mendeleev", dedicated to the 190th anniversary of the great Russian scientist, took place at the stand of the Financial University. The event was organized by the Department of World Economy and World Finance of the Faculty of International Economic Relations of the University of Finance together with the Association of University Graduates.

“Encyclopedia of Economic Works by D.I. Mendeleev” is a unique publication that opens up new facets of the personality of the encyclopedic scientist.

The authors of the Encyclopedia, FinU alumni Vladimir Tarankov and Marina Sakharova, for the first time studied and presented the rarest material on Mendeleev’s personal finance management, including his 40-year experience in investing in various Russian stocks and bonds, based on archival documents.

As part of the book presentation, a discussion was held on the contribution of D.I. Mendeleev to the formation of the strategy of economic independence of Russia. Pavel Seleznev, Dean of the Faculty of International Economic Relations, and Valery Barabanov, President of the FinU Association of Alumni, took part in the discussion.

On May 10, 2024, at the Exhibition-Forum, experts from the FinU discussed the development of a new paradigm of international financial and investment relations in the framework of the panel discussion “Leadership of Russia: Strategies and Prospects”. The panelists stressed that the global economy’s transformation  is associated with the emergence of new technologies and a change in global leadership. Representatives of the FinU Scientific school – Elizaveta Sokolova, Alexey Kuznetsov, Peter Tolmachev and Mikhail Zharikov - made specialized reports. In an open dialogue, the experts discussed the main trends in modern international economic relations and the world economy’s development, proposed a set of tools to counter capital outflow from Russia, and outlined the main trajectories of the development of a modern scientific school.

On May 11, 2024, as part of the forum youth program, FinU students presented to the members of the expert jury the results of research projects that they are implementing as part of the scientific school of the Department of World Economy and World Finance. Honorary President of the Financial University Alla Georgievna Gryaznova became the guest of honor of the event.

Young researchers presented initiatives in capital management models in highly volatile markets, transfer pricing, and the use of digital technologies to counter environmental risks.

The students paid special attention to new trends in education, demonstrating the possibilities of using 3D modeling in the educational process at the FinU, as well as the use of VR technologies in the training of economics students. The guests of the exhibition learnt more about the unique VR training course “World Prices and International Pricing”.

Also, visitors to the stand tested educational projects of the CyberHub Center of the FinU – lectures on global pricing in VR format and virtual simulators.

The students’ reports were accompanied by a discussion on the development of economics, finance and modern educational technologies.

Every year, the exhibition brings together experts and connoisseurs of history and art from different regions at its venues, serving the important cause of preserving and popularizing the original traditions and customs that our country is rightfully famous for.
