On May 13, 2024, during the plenary session, the deputies of the State Duma considered and for the first time in the history of modern Russia approved the candidacies submitted by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin for the positions of First Deputy and Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia.

Thus, Denis Manturov was approved for the post of First Deputy Chairman of the Government of Russia.

Dmitry Chernyshenko, who was approved for the post of Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, will supervise the activities of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Education, Rosmolodezh and the Ministry of Economic Development in terms of tourism development, mass media, periodicals and publishing. Dmitry Chernyshenko has held the post of Deputy Prime Minister since 2020.

During the meeting, Dmitry Chernyshenko made a presentation, stressing that the President has set ambitious goals for institutional changes in higher education.

In his speech, Dmitry Chernyshenko elaborated on the success of education, in particular noting the increase in tuition-fee basis places, as well as an increase in the total amount of funds allocated to science in our country by 68%.

Tatyana Golikova, Alexander Novak, Alexey Overchuk, Dmitry Patrushev, Vitaly Saveliev, Marat Khusnullin were also confirmed as deputy prime ministers. Dmitry Grigorenko was confirmed as Deputy Prime Minister - Head of the Government Staff, and Yuri Trutnev – Deputy Prime Minister – Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the Far Eastern Federal District.
