On May 10, 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree appointing Mikhail Mishustin as Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation. Mikhail Mishustin is appointed to the post of Prime Minister for the second time, he first took up this position in January 2020.
Earlier on Friday, the State Duma at a plenary session considered the issue of approving the candidacy of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation. The deputies voted by an absolute majority for the candidacy of Mikhail Mishustin, presented by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. For the first time, the State Duma approved the Head of Government according to the new rules that came into force after amendments to the Constitution.
During the meeting, Mikhail Mishustin made a report and outlined the key areas of activity of the new Government, including strengthening the economy, ensuring technological sovereignty, digital transformation, saving people and supporting families with children, improving the welfare of citizens and balanced development of regions and infrastructure.
The meeting was attended by Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU, Ivan Lobanov, Rector of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Vladimir Malyshev, Rector of VGIK, representatives of the scientific and business community.
Commenting on the results of the meeting, Stanislav Prokofiev stressed, "The Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, being the flagship of financial and economic education and the largest university in the country, which trains specialists in finance, economics and management, will certainly take part in the implementation of the tasks set by Russian President Vladimir Putin, and will contribute to the achievement of national development goals. In cooperation with the largest employers, FinU implements unique educational programs and launches projects aimed at training a new generation of professionals – top managers who can think ahead and find effective solutions to their tasks."
