On April 21, 2024, an Open Doors Day was held at the FinU, where all faculties, bachelor's, specialist's and master's degree educational programs, as well as projects in the pre-university and continuing education were presented.

"The Financial University is a mega university, one of the five largest universities generally and the largest university educating specialists in economics, management and finance. This year, for the first time in its history, our university entered the top 200 universities in the world that train specialists in economics. In the 105 years since the founding of the FinU, more than 1 million alumni have left its walls. We are proud of our history and our alumni, including 7 ministers of finance of different years, 4 heads of the State Bank - the Central Bank of Russia, great businessmen and entrepreneurs," said Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU, opening the meeting.

In his speech, the Rector of the FinU outlined the key trends in the development of the country's higher education system, which were formed at the University,

"The university is a platform that combines the requirements of employers and the dreams of students. In order to achieve this ambitious goal, FinU develops and implements innovative projects that are unique in the higher education sector in our country," said Stanislav Prokofiev.

Stanislav Prokofiev called the educational project of the university the first innovation of the FinU, which allows combining two degrees in one diploma. Traditionally, FinU pays great attention to the development of practice-oriented education and creates pairs of such qualifications with a focus on current market requirements.

As a leader in financial and economic education, the FinU builds the skills and worldview of students of economic specialties across the country, as well as expands competencies in other areas through cooperation with Russian universities - leaders in their field,

"For the admission year 2024, we are opening 6 double  degree educational programs with leading universities in Russia, including Bauman Moscow State Technical University, GITIS and the State University of Land Use Planning," Stanislav Prokofiev explained.

Stanislav Prokofiev also drew the guests' attention to the importance of following the concept of lifelong learning, noting that at the university a unique ecosystem for the personal and professional growth of young specialists has been created.

Another important area of the university's work is the support of youth entrepreneurship: a business incubator and an entrepreneurship club have been created on the basis of the FinU, and a student start-up acceleration program is underway:

"This year, for the first time in the history of the FinU, 4 student projects developed on the basis of our business incubator received patents, and 9 initiatives of our students entered the top of the best technical projects selected by experts from the Ministry of Industry and Trade. This is a very important step in the development of students' technological entrepreneurship, and together with Rospatent we will continue to improve our work in this area," said the Rector of the FinU.

"One of the key areas of our work is the digitalization of education and business processes. In this regard, we pay special attention to improving digital literacy in all faculties," said Stanislav Prokofiev. 

FinU implements a unique course "Digital Finance", where they teach design thinking and prepare mathematical economists who speak the R programming language, which is in demand for solving specific functional tasks.

Speaking about cooperation with foreign partners, the Rector of the FinU noted that the University is actively developing partnerships with leading educational organizations from the EAEU countries, Asia, Latin America, as well as the Persian Gulf states, launching joint educational programs that provide students with an opportunity to study abroad and obtain a second diploma. Focusing on the change of economic vectors, the University has significantly expanded the range of language training for students, offering the opportunity to study not only European foreign languages, but also Turkish, Arabic and Chinese.

Stanislav Prokofiev added that the University is paying more attention to the development of scientific and educational infrastructure: in cooperation with market leaders, modern laboratories, coworking and media libraries have been created on the FinU campus, unique internship and work experience programs have been launched, which give students the opportunity to join the teams of major employers from the 3rd year and take part in the implementation of large-scale business projects.

The rector of the FinU emphasized that extracurricular activities of students organically continue the learning process,

"FinU follows a modern approach based on uniting students by professional and creative interests. By becoming a student at the FinU, you will be able to discover new talents in yourself and significantly improve your personal skills".

The Rector also drew the attention of the guests to the fact that the infrastructure of the University is accessible not only to Moscow citizens, but also to students from regions and many countries of the world. 

"Today, FinU has the most modern network of halls of residence and is the leader in providing accommodation places there," he said.

He assured applicants and their parents that in case of successful admission, students will live in absolutely comfortable conditions, use all the modern infrastructure of the university during their studies, and after exams they will be able to relax in the Lesnoye Ozero Resort halls of residence, where activists regularly hold sports and creative events.

The guest of honor at the Open Doors Day was Sergey Lazarev, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Bank of Sberbank. In his speech, he talked about the key areas of the Bank's activity and the main educational and practical programs offered not only to university alumni, but also to schoolchildren.

Sergey Kolyada, an alumnus of the University and the PR director of M.Video-Eldorado, shared his personal story of admission to the FinU and the secrets of professional development with future applicants. Addressing the young people, the expert advised them to actively participate in youth projects and use all opportunities to build their competitive advantages.

Throughout the day, there were consulting rooms for prospective students and their parents, where they could  get to know the rules of admission and the details of preparation for admission. Svetlana Bryukhovetskaya, Vice Rector for Marketing and Work with Applicants, drew the attention of the meeting participants to the specificity of the University.

In an open dialog with the deans of the faculties of the FinU, the students could learn about the features and advantages of various educational programs. There was also an exhibition of faculties and a fair of extra-curricular programs for students.

Experts and psychologists of the FinU conducted training and master classes for students, where they shared the secrets of preparing for exams, talked about career planning and opportunities to start their own business.

The guests of the Open Doors Day also visited the exposition of the Museum of the FinU where they got to know the stages of development of the Russian financial system, talked to volunteers and representatives of the Student Council of the FinU, took part in specialized workshops and saw performances of the creative teams of the University.
