On April 11, 2024, the Department of Public Finance of the Faculty of Finance together with the Tashkent State University of Economics held the V International Scientific and Practical Conference “Public Sector Finance: Global Trends, New Risks and Future Priorities”.

The event was held in person using online technologies, more than 110 people took part in it, including representatives of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Georgia, the Republic of Tajikistan, practitioners from the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, the Federal Treasury, faculty of the Financial Research Institute of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, the Baikal State University, the Military University of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation named after Prince A. Nevsky Prospekt, Far Eastern Federal University, North Ossetian State University, FinU.

The conference included a plenary session, a panel discussion “Transformation of the financial system in the context of achieving national development goals”, a section for young scientists “Improving the efficiency of public finance management”.

The scientific discussion was focused on the following topics: harmonization of the fiscal space of Russia, financial aspects of the data economy, financial incentives to increase the competitiveness of economic sectors in the context of advanced development, support for the development of finance in new regions, financial instruments and conditions for improving the quality of life, modern mechanisms for stimulating investment activity in the regions.

Based on the results of the conference, the directions of further cooperation between the scientific and professional community in priority areas for the development of public sector finance, taking into account the global challenges and trends of the current stage of economic transformation, were determined.
