On September 12, 2023, FinU hosted a meeting between the President of the BRICS International Forum, Purnima Anand, and the FinU administration. The agenda of the event included the bilateral cooperation development in science and education.​

Ekaterina Kameneva, Vice-Rector for Educational and Methodological Work of the FinU, welcomed the President of the BRICS International Forum. In her introductory speech, she spoke about the FinU main activities and the international projects being implemented.

Head of the International Cooperation Department Lilia Prikhodko in her speech noted the importance of forming research ties with leading universities in India, as well as with universities of the BRICS countries.

During the talks, Pavel Seleznev, Dean of the Faculty of International Economic Relations, spoke about the educational program launched by the FinU for Indian entrepreneurs, which includes both academic track and practical cases of doing Indian business in Russia, and noted the importance of international cooperation in the business field.

In turn, the President of the BRICS International Forum, Purnima Anand, also stressed the importance of international scientific and educational cooperation, as well as of the industrial sector development.

On behalf of the FinU, the meeting was also attended by the scientific director of the Institute of Global Studies of the Faculty, Alexander Ilyinsky, and the director of the Institute, Sergey Belokonev.  

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in the need to strengthen Russian-Indian relations.

Ms. Anand’s visit was continued by a discussion meeting with faculty and students of the Faculty of International Economic Relations, during which she shared her vision of the current global agenda. The event also summed up the results of the BRICS summit in South Africa, as well as outlined the prospects for trade, economic and financial cooperation, taking into account the expansion of the alliance and the accession of new member countries.

As part of her visit to the FinU, Ms. Anand also visited the FinU Museum.
