In August 2023, the FinU Rector, Professor Stanislav Prokofiev, gave an interview on the topic of the Second World War banknotes live on the online portal “Vechernaya Moskva”.
In an interview dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the FinU Museum, the Rector told about the history of the formation of the museum’s funds and expositions, about the unique collection of military money donated to the museum by him, and also dwelled in detail on the peculiarities of monetary circulation during the Second World War, emphasizing the importance of the educational component of the FinU exhibition activities in teaching historical disciplines.
The format of the interview included answers to the questions of subscribers of the social networks of Vechernaya Moskva, which gave a new impetus to the conversation and touched upon the subject of the most rare and valuable collection’s exhibits. Answering the questions, Stanislav Prokofiev spoke about the issue of monetary surrogates and national monetary units in the occupied territories by the German and Japanese administrations and about their replacement with liberation money. In conclusion, he shared plans to expand the FinU museum and invited everyone to visit exciting excursions.
