On August 1-4, 2023, a junior researcher at the Institute of Regional Economics and Inter-Budgetary Relations, PhD in Economics, Andrei Zhukovsky, at the invitation of the Government of the Kamchatka Territory, took part as an expert in the events of the II All-Russian Youth Ecological Forum "Ecosystem. Reserved land".
The opening ceremony of the II All-Russian Youth Ecological Forum "Ecosystem. Reserved Land" was held in the center of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on August 1.
Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin,
"One of the main results of our first forum was the creation of the All-Russian ecological social movement "Ecosystem", which united both specialists in environmental protection and energetic caring people from many regions of our country: those who, at the call of their hearts, are ready to work for the preservation of our natural wealth and are convinced that human influence on the environment should be reasonable and prudent. During the current forum, representatives of environmental and volunteer organizations, students and young scientists will be able to continue an open discussion on a wide range of issues on the environmental agenda, meet with reputable experts, activists, entrepreneurs, exchange accumulated experience and practices, propose their projects in environmental safety, development of protected areas, tourism and, of course, they will meet with unique sights of the Kamchatka Territory. I would like to emphasize that a gathering of young naturalists will be held as part of the forum and a movement of young naturalists will be organized, which means that the traditions of saving native nature, caring about improving the ecological situation in Russia will definitely be continued," Sergey Kiriyenko said.
The Governor of the Kamchatka Territory noted that the peninsula is hosting the forum for the second time.
"This is a confirmation that the nature that we are proud of, the unique places of Kamchatka that attract people from all over the world, the caring and love that we all share, are an attractive and important factor for the whole country, for the whole world, and it will always be so. I want to wish all the forum participants and residents of Kamchatka, all the guests, that we inspire for a new day, set trends for the preservation and development of our nature and make Kamchatka, the country and our common home – the planet – a little better every day and together we will succeed," Vladimir Solodov said.
As part of his work at the forum site from 01.08.2023 to 04.08.2023, Andrei Zhukovsky held working meetings with the heads of executive authorities of the Kamchatka Territory, adviser to the Governor of the Rostov Region A.S. Alekseyev, Acting Rector of the Kamchatka State University named after Vitus Bering" by E.S. Merkulov, the staff of the Kamchatka branch of the Pacific Geographical Institute of the Far Eastern Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences, the President of the Southern Federal University M.A. Borovskaya, as well as with a number of other forum participants.
On August 4, 2023, Andrei Zhukovsky, as part of the forum, made a presentation as an expert at the round table "Innovations for Sustainable Development" on the topic "Features of the Study of Non-Urbanized Territories and Tools for their Socio-Economic Development", and also presented to the participants the scientific and practical experience of the Institute of Regional Economics and Inter-Budgetary Relations of the FinU in making strategic documents for the socio-economic development of the regions of Russia. Orlova, Director of the Department for Youth Work of the Executive Directorate of the Russian Geographical Society, author of the civil science project "Sample Crossing" A.A. Yurmanov, Creative Director of the All-Russian Society for Nature Protection, A.G. Zhuravleva, Head of the Kamchatka Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring Department, V.S. Polyakova, Head of the Department for the Far Eastern Federal District (Roshydromet) E.V. Primachev. The event was held at the site of the Regional State Budgetary Institution "Sypuchka" at the Office of the Governor and the Government of the Kamchatka Territory.
This event brought together more than 500 people from 12 countries of the world, including representatives of state authorities, the diplomatic corps, business structures, scientific intelligentsia and public organizations.
