On June 15, 2023, the Interuniversity Scientific and Methodological Seminar “Scenarios of the Future or Illusions of the Past?” was held at the FinU, organized by the Department of Economic Theory to present and discuss teaching the discipline “National Economy” with colleagues from Russian and foreign universities.

Economic thought in the era of global structural transformation inevitably requires its development. Times of turbulent social shifts invariably and unconditionally feel the need for philosophical justification and political and economic interpretation of the emerging socio-economic contradictions, such as rising unemployment, chronic inflation, energy crisis, monetary shocks. The special inconsistency of the concepts of regulation-deregulation prevailing in the modern world of economic science in public relations is quite obvious. Representatives of Russian science and higher economic education face the need to reassess the currently dominant postulates and recommendations in theory and practice. In these conditions, the development and teaching of a new discipline dedicated to the problems and prospects of the national economy development is more than an urgent and timely mission.

The seminar was attended by more than 30 people, including representatives of our partner — the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, and a number of Russian universities — Lomonosov Moscow State University, All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade, Kuban State University, Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography, Financial Research Institute of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, Tver State University.
