On June 16, 2023, at the SPIEF-2023 site, the FinU and the Russian Environmental Operator signed an agreement on cooperation in personnel training for the closed-loop economy. The document was signed by Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU, and Denis Butsaev, CEO of REO.

REO specialists will conduct workshops, business cases, trainings, business games and other events for students and FinU alumni.

Signing the agreement, Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the FinU, stressed, “The transition to a closed-loop economy is one of the priorities today and is among the strategic initiatives of the Russian Government.  I am convinced that our cooperation with REO, which implies the implementation of joint socially significant projects and the training of highly qualified personnel for the industry, will be productive and will allow us to find new effective solutions in waste management and resources’ reuse.”

“The necessary work  direction on the formation of a closed-loop economy is the training of qualified specialists for the waste management industry. On the basis of universities, we train personnel, improve the qualifications of our employees, accept students for internships, and participate in joint educational events. As part of the agreement with the FinU, we will continue this work and are confident in productive cooperation with this university,” said Denis Butsaev, General Director of the REO.

Also, as part of the business program of the third day of SPIEF-2023, the Rector of the FinU Stanislav Prokofiev took part in a panel session dedicated to the presentation of the EPS rating of responsible business. The ranking received the abbreviation EPS (stands for Ecology, Personnel and State) and should become an alternative to rating companies for the implementation of EPS principles. Rating participants go through two stages of evaluation — based on the results of scoring, taking into account information from public sources, and based on the results of a questionnaire aimed at identifying special support measures and programs implemented in the company. It is assumed that the EPS rating will be the largest project to evaluate companies implementing responsible business practices.

The panel session “About those who look to the future: presentation of the EPS rating of responsible business” was also attended by Governor of the Vladimir Region Alexander Avdeev, Head of the Federal Tax Service of Russia Daniil Egorov, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Central Federal District Igor Shchegolev, President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin, auditor Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation Dmitry Zaitsev and HeadHunter Director of Public Relations Vitaly Terentyev. The session was moderated by the Rector of the Higher School of Economics Nikita Anisimov.
