Within three days, from June 6 to 8, 2023, FinU became the venue for the final seminar-meeting on youth policy and educational activities. The meetings included presentations of youth projects, discussions on topical students’ issues, as well as the exchange of best educational practices at university.
This final meeting completes a series of expert platforms on the implementation of youth policy and educational activities in universities. The event was organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation together with the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.
Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, stressed that to solve the urgent problems facing the university community, it is necessary to unite the efforts of all those involved in the formation of the youth policy ecosystem.
“The challenge of modernity, to which we are now responding, is that nothing can be done alone. The concept of leadership now is based on cooperation,” Olga Petrova noted. The tasks that we face are very complex and large-scale. Therefore, we work, we move, we comprehend. And, of course, I am sure that we will absolutely succeed.”
The meeting participants were welcomed by Stanislav Prokofiev, FinU Rector, noting the importance of the educational component in the universities’ activities along with education and science.
“The education of a professional and a patriot is one of the key tasks today, and the peculiarity of our approaches is that we consider the students’ education to be the task of both the management and all university staff,” the Rector stressed.
Stanislav Prokofiev also spoke about the main tracks of educational work at university, education through job, science, innovation and cultural work.
Alexey Eremin, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Central Federal District, in his speech noted the main areas of work with young people, and also outlined the main challenges.
Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs Damir Fattakhov drew attention to the importance of working together on youth projects aimed at creating an environment and ecosystem for the development and self-realization of young people in our country.
The working part of the seminar program was opened by a presentation of youth projects, which was continued by a group work of experts dedicated to the interaction of universities and the Russian Movement of Children and Youth, the connection of youth policy with other areas of the university’s work and the definition of values.
As part of the second day program, a project presentation of the Committee for Public Relations and Youth Policy of Moscow and the All-Russian project “Your Move” took place. The experts also continued to discuss the target audiences’ needs of the youth policy. The seminar was completed with an excursion program at the FinU Museum dedicated to the history of Russian finance.
