On June 8, 2023, a meeting was held between the administration of the FinU and the delegation of Liaoning University, during which an agreement was signed on the implementation of an academic exchange program between universities. The document was signed by Stanislav Prokofiev, FinU Rector, and Yu Miaojie, Rector of Liaoning University.
The participants of the meeting were welcomed by the FinU Rector Stanislav Prokofiev, noting that the interaction between universities has a rich history.
"Today we are entering a new era of bilateral cooperation, which will open up new horizons for students and faculty, and will also contribute to improving the quality of education," the Rector stressed.
Stanislav Prokofiev also added that the University pays great attention to the formation of ties with leading Chinese universities and expressed hope for long-term and fruitful cooperation.
In turn, the Rector of Liaoning University Yu Miaojie noted the importance of partnership with the FinU – one of the Russian education leaders in economics and finance, and also introduced the meeting participants to the main work areas of Liaoning University and outlined the key prospects for cooperation. During the negotiations, such areas of cooperation as the launch of joint academic programs and scientific projects were highlighted.
On the part of the FinU, the meeting was attended by Vice-Rector for Educational and Methodological Work Ekaterina Kameneva, Head of the International Cooperation Department Lilia Prikhodko, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Mass Communications Alexander Shatilov.
As part of the visit, students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Mass Communications also received a lecture by the Rector of Liaoning University, Professor Yu Miaojie, on the economy of China.
The director of the Chinese Academy of Open Economy of Liaoning University, Professor Cui Zheng, told the meeting participants about the main trends in the development of Russian-Chinese relations. The participants of the meeting asked the guests questions about the history and culture of China.
The visit of the Liaoning University delegation ended with a meeting with the administration of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Mass Communications, within which the parties agreed to launch a double-degree program in "Global Politics" (bachelor's degree) in the "3+1" system and the program "PR and GR technologies in politics and business" (master's degree) in the "1+1". The Rector of Liaoning University particularly noted the research achievements in political sciences, which were presented to him at the Center for Political Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Mass Communications by Professor A.S. Ognev and Professor E.V. Brodovskaya. Agreements were also reached on the organization of faculty academic exchanges in the 2023/2024 academic year.
