The analytical center “Expert”, specializing in applied research in education and science, has published the subject ranking results of research and publication activity of Russian universities’ faculty.
The evaluation of the universities’ effectiveness in this direction allows us to analyze scientific activity in publication activity, the universities’ willingness to generate inventions and engage in research, includes an assessment of interuniversity scientific collaborations.
In Economics, the key subject area for the FinU, our university entered the top 3 for the first time and took second place! The center’s analysts recorded a record increase in the number and quality of scientific publications (for example, the university entered the top three in the subject area in terms of the number of Q1-level articles), the number of article citations of FinU faculty increased significantly. Congratulations to our colleagues – authors of scientific publications with a high assessment of their activities!
In general, in the subject ranking of universities’ research and publication activity of 2023, FinU is represented in nine subject areas and three subject sections, demonstrated confident qualitative growth and entered the group of leading universities (Top-3, Top-10) in three subject areas at once:

· Management – 6-8 (+3)
· Social Sciences – 7-8 (+2)
· Humanities – 13-14 (-2)
· Ecology – 15 (+4)
· Energy – 16-19 (+8)
· Math – 22-24 (+4)
· Computer Science – 31 (+3)
· Engineering Sciences – 31-34 (+9)
